At long last i have finally fitted the new water pump, themostat and water pipes, must say i do feel a great sense of achievement after suceeding at long last, on inspection of the pump it seems there was sod all wrong with it and it was just the liquid gasket that had failed, but i decided that a new one couldnt hurt anyway, like wise with the thermostat and water pipes.

When I was doing it I swore I would NEVER take it apart myself again, but now im not so sure, think I might do all the belts this week!!!! (except cam belt, thats outa my leauge!)

Pic of my fixed car celebrations!

HEY!!!! whos been telling you our secrets?!?! :D ;)

Nice one Barks - well done indeed! ... here's hoping that you can still pick up that can and haven't skinned your knuckles, broken your fingers etc, etc :D

My hat is off to you as one who'd love to be able to do this sort of thing, but is frankly, too scared to try it! :D

Have to agree with jon-boy there, shite scared to try anything like that!!!

Would save me LOOOOADSSSS of dosh though!!!!:)

Congrats on getting it done.

A couple of small points

why didnt you change the belts when you took the pulley off? you must have put the old ones back on

The cambelt is not as difficult as you think, I had done a couple on other cars but was wary as they seem to be steered clear of on V6 lumps. But, TBH, when I decided to do mine, although there is more setting up to do, as long as you dont go moving the cams all over the place, its not rocket science. I found the fact that nissan belts have 5 marks to line up the five sprockets v. helpful.

The feeling that having done it once , you would would do it again, is the same one I got having done the cambelt

Go on, you know you want to:)
