My tt has seems to be stuck on cold start fast idle (about 1500rpm)even when hot. Any easy answers before I let mt main dealer loose on it?

There are a few things you can do, like clean the throttle bodies, reset the throttle position sensor and reset the idle. ALl this is very easy if you are comfortable using a spanner or two. Have a look at http://www.z-car.net for some good technical details on how to do this.

Hi,

Don't let a 'Nelson Mandella' near your car....they will probably tell you a new engine is needed!! wink.gif

You're better off cleaning all the under bonnet sensor contacts, such as TPS, temp sensor etc.It worked on my car!

JEZ

I'm 95% sure it's the temp-sensor.

Check the (big) yellow plug on top of the aluminium pipe in front of the engine for corrosion..

I know it sounds daft but check your coolant level! When mine was low the engine went to fast idle. If you take the radiator cap off the fluid should be up to the top.

I had that problem.

New air filters and some injector cleaner in the tank. After a few hundred miles when the cleaner had time to work, it came back down to 750rpm.
