GReddy E Manage

I have recently installed an Apexi AVC-R boost controller but it has not been set up yet because i do not know what chip to get to run with it and it seems there is a lot of debate over what is the best one. In an advert in Jap Performance Magazine one company is selling GReddy E Manage piggyback ECU system and i was wondering if this system would be the same as chipping my Z. Does anybody know anything about this system or has anyone got it already done?

I use an Apexi S-AFC in tandem with my AVC-R to control fuelling with just the standard factory chip, and it works great:)

Yeah i have an Emanage they are fantastic products and will be plenty suffice for what you want to do.

It is cheaper though to get the ecu done.

as the emanage cost around 330 plus all the harnesses it ends up at around 480

Cheers guys, I have had differing opinions about using just an Apexi SAFC and not changing the chip. This was what i planned to do originally. Is it completely safe? Does the Emanage do just the same as changing the chip would as i do not know what is modified when u change the chip from standard i.e is it just the amount of fuelling? The advert for the Greddy system said it would be £375 including harness which is about the same amount as a chip change anyway. The more i think about it the more confused i get!!!

I've had no problems with it for over 18 months:)

Thanks adam, where did u get the SAFC set up as this was my original plan, i think that is what i will do!

Also meant to ask if u used a fuel cut defencer? Same differing opinions about whether or not u need one!

300zx's dont have fuel cut! I know some sites such as tdi list a defencer, but the car does'nt have fuel cut (as an aside they also list one for gtir's another car with no fuel cut)

With standard turbos (I'm assuming you've got induction & zorst) you should be able to make a safe 350bhp at least at 1-1.1 bar ;)

Whereabouts are you based?

The EMANAGE is a far betetr system than the Apexi Super AFR as it can be a fully mappable unit, ie you can start with the base maps of your ECU and then you can compleetly map the car to your own spec... ie ignition timming, fuel air ratio you can add bigger injectors to it, you can add extra injectors if you wish, you can compleetly get rid of the MAF ect, so it has loads of expandability (if there is such a word)

the stock ecu is pretty good and you coudl gain more from an AFR but if you wish to get larger injectors ect and go for more power .... ie your stock injectors ect start maxing out around 370 wheel bhp i think then youd need to have the ecu mapped for bigger injectors.

Just as an aside my 555's are getting installed as we speak, and (hopefully) its going to be set up with just an S-AFC and the stock chip...I should know how its gone by Friday (if my injector connectors ever turn up....). When I find out more I'll post it;)

COOL soon the boost goes up eh :)

dude you do need to change the mapping in the ECU because without doing so your car is going to idle like a pig and the ecu is still only going to be pushing fuel out for 370cc injectors, the Apexi Super AFC can only adjust your fuel by X percent in iether direction.

Would be iteresting to see how you get along.

Yeah, I know in the long run I'll probably either have to chip it or go for a more complete solution like a power fc or something similar, but I'm a touch short of cash right now (f**kinn gearbox:mad:  ;) ), so I'm gonna see how this works out...

Also if I get a JWT "twin pop" kit, that comes with a new chip anyway....

Hello mate,

I never knew the chip for Z costs £370???

I think if you do a bit of research, you should be able to get one (JWT or SE) for £150 fitted.

Thanks again lads, I have already got the induction and zorst including hks downpipes done and also running HKS intercoolers. As with most Z owners i do not really know how far i want to go with the engine as i still want it to be drivable so my hopeful figure will be around 450bhp. I am also getting an RPS street clutch fitted to take this power.Taking into consideration the injectors as u say warren i will have to uprate them probably to 555's the same as adams. Is there anything else i will need if i go with the E Manage system? How much power can the standard turbos take?

The stock turbos can get around 400 wheel bhp out of them from the dynos ive seen , not much more. But thats at the wheels.

Here is what you need .

E-manage Injector Harness $32.00

E-manage Ignition Harness $34.00

E-manage Pressure Sensor $99.00 (only if you max out stock air flow unit)

E-manage Pressure Sensor Harness$29.00

E-manage, ONLY $295.00!*:D

thats it but then you have duties on top of that ect.
