Anyone know anything about alarms?

Guys,

I have to remove a Clifford concept 300 from my Pug 205gti today as the car is going tomorrow and the lady is going to trackday it so she isnt bothered about the alarm, its £300's worht though and I like to fit it to me fiesta!

Are these things really hard to take out?

Any help or numbers to contact would be appreciated!:D

The immobiliser wiring is black and untracable once removed. You can doenload an installation manual from http://www.clifford.com which may help you label the wires BEFORE you remove it.

You will have to reconnect the immobilised circuits (you will see what I mean when you get to it).

Not for the feint hearted!!

Good luck

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Is it worth it? I mean should I give it to a specialist?

Or do you think the average DIY man could do it?

And what do you mean untraceable after its removed? Sorry if I'm being thick?:D

The immobiliser wiring has no identification on it, all of the wires are black. So once removed you cannot tell which wire goes where. Hence download the manual and mark them with their description.

Not worth taking to a pro as they will charge you more to remove and refit than fitting and supplying a new alarm. Most of the cost of an alarm is the installation.

Good luck

Paul
