any body had any traffic light duels with one of these cars, me and a work mate in big discussion as hes buying one soon, he thinks hell waste me as he thinks the quoted 0-60 is 5.2 seconds where as i think they;re 6 according to sites ive looked at?

cant beat a bit of playground banter :D

245bhp rear engine very light. I heard the 0-60 is 5.2

But like many Imported cars there where a few versions of it. Some being more powerful than others.

I can only speak from experience..........

I left one for dead at a set of lights near fort dunlop, I was already at the lights and this guy pulled up next to me, his mate pointed over and he started to nudge forward (I had my eyes forward and pretended not to see) then I got the *smile* on my face and thought...............

I'll have him..........

Lights went Amber, we both pulled away........

I saw the front of his car upto about 30 and he was no more!!

Looked in rear view mirror, he was still flooring it but was about 100 yards or so back and I hit 100mph and backed off.

He pulled up along side at another set of lights, wound the window down and told me my Z was fast as fook and he thought his MR2 Turbo would take the big lardy arsed Z easily........

Nevermind eh, oh and he never even attempted to have a go at the next set of lights.

:D

yeah the zed is pretty deadly once its moving, i have problems launching me auto, most cars with a bit of grunt nose ahead upto about 30ish then when the turbos kick in its wooosh and big grin as u pass them and there a small dot in your mirror, i must admit a mates 300 brake scooby was a good battle but i was in front of him past 50 :D

i had a quick look on the net and a few places say 5.2/5.25, most say 6.0, couple said 6.2

u just dunno who to trust these days ay

from 120mph I killed one up to 140mph, they then can't go anyfaster so its bye bye bye

the 300zx/mr2 track days are brilliant ;)

My mate at works got a MR2 turbo so I think I might challenge him when I get it back!;)

I'll let you all know how I get on!

Aghhhhh can answer this with some knowledge as my bro has one and a few duals have been had upto about 80ish it will be right on ya tail then you will start to pull away by about 100-120 the should be some daylight between you

And thats another zed victim

:D :D :D

I've got a mate with a chipped one + big exhaust etc (280bhp supposedly).

Still went down to my Z though, although he did put up quite a fight; what with it being a lot lighter and all that ! He gets more trouble getting traction off the lights than I do, but we'll both have Racelogic on soon so that won't be an issue

My Z's running at 330 horsies, so I guess neither are quite standard, but hey !
