Ive been considering getting some for some time now, maby GB?

who has them and have they noticed a definate difference., all ive heard is they cause understeer .????

to be perfectly honest, the ones that just bolt on are really more for looks!! pukka race ones have a threaded bolt in the cross section to tension it up after fitting.

I see in the piccy in Pauls link above that the car also has electronic actuators on the front shocks. Looks like USA cars can have the 2 position shocks all round.

It says that for the rear ones then some cutting into the trim is required?

I wouldn't have thought that Aluminium was the right material for a proper job here either ?

I understand that the front ones help turn in and reduce understeer a bit, but I haven't driven a car with them fitted.

You should also consider upgrading the bushes for the 4 wheel steer to the synthetic type as I understand this can also help tighten up the front end, - I've noticed that some forum members have these fitted too, any comments anyone?

So has anyone fitted a rear strut bar and cut into the trim?

Tony,

you will need to cut two small slits into the rear mouldings.

i.e. the ones that cover the shocks.

It's not hard to do and you can tidy up the edges with a rubber grommet after you cut the holes.

Haven't fitted them myself but seen a few Z's with them on in the states.

If you want to get them but are not confident about cutting the panels, bring them to me and I'll fit them for you.

Thanks Stuart, you're a gent!:)

How's your Z by the way?

Is it OK now?

Cheers,

F.T.

The Z has not recovered yet.

Found a local garage who has a cylinder leakage tester so I'll be taking it to them. I didn't realise but the guy has done a fair bit of work on 300zx's, inluding a green one in the Ilford area.

This ring any bells ?

FT you want to get in touch with Dave Seargent he has just fitted some (stillen i think but could be wrong) was speaking to hime before we went to bolney and he was saying that he thought that they made quite a difference and yes he did have to cut the trim in the back but was just a small square to cut out of the plastic trim under the speaker mounts said it was easy to do but ask him sure he will tell you all
