Not sure but you can get leather seat restorer at Harry Halfords and someone did mention using Kiwi shoe scuff treatment to cover over any cracks/discolouration.

Need to try it myself.

Just done mine with Kiwi leather shoe cleaner and lots of hard work.

Lots pukka now.

And only £2.49 for the bottle smile.gif

Yes, it`s Kiwi leather instant wax shine

works wonders, lasts for months, also cleans

shoes!

The other thing I put on my seats is Linseed oil and the stuff horseriders use on their saddles. Then buff them over with the Kiwi shoepolish on those small scuffed areas and there you have it. Gleaming seats with that fresh leather /new car smell.

You can also use Connolly Hide Food. Usually available in shoe shops and places that sell bike leathers.

this kiwi shoe scuff stuff, I've looked all over and can't find it. All they seem to have is black or navy. What is the exact description of it??

Cheers

WEll, it's just a litle tin, gold on the bottom and black on top with a Kiwi bird on it, hence the imaginative name and thn a band across with the colour on.

Want me to buy you some and post it down?

Ajay, do I detect a touch of sarcasm????????? I'm gonna have another look, maybe I'll try opening me eyes this time. If I cant find it I'll let you know, but thanks anyway!!!!

Cheers

Vijay

HI Vijay,

Its in a plastic bottle type thing,

with a foam spreader pad on the top!

Not in a tin as this will leave marks on your skirt.

About £2 at Tesco's & such its a marvel.

Hi,

Yes, shoe scuff cover is in a tube, and the black colour is ok to use on grey seats, as it can be buffed in.Don't use shoe polish, as this will come off on your clothes.(Buy from Tesco/Sainsburys)

If your leather is dry, use either saddle soap, 'Auto Glym Leather Care' (Halfords), or 'Lord Sheraton Leather Balm'(From Tesco/Sainsburys,& intended for domestic leather sofas, but very good at putting some moisture back in the seats....smells of almonds)

Oh ye of little faith. Obviously never had to spend every Sunday evening polishing your school shoes! Buff them enough and nothing comes off on your clothes. I've used the Kiwi shoe polish for about the last 6 months and have never come away with a dirty great polish mark on any of my stuff.

Vijay : actually, no, it wasn't sarcasm, although at 6:30 in the morning it could be anything... It was just that you said you couldn't find any, I can and know where to get it so if you want some, give me a shout.

Hi,

I still wouldn't recommend shoe polish...I tried this myself, and found that it wears off on your clothes quite quickly, giving your suit the 'shiny look'. wink.gif Plus, you need to keep reapplying it, unlike the scuff cover, which is more of a dye.

Also the 'proper' leather seat restorers give your car that original 'new leather smell', and not the aroma of 'Shoe City'! wink.gif wink.gif

What you want to try and avoid is that shiny PVC look, that some car seats aquire, when buffed up, and more of the matt/satin finish of the original leather.
