What the smeg are you on about J :D ???

I said Plem not Phlem

Stu, on Twinturbo.net under "how to replace the injectors" gives a good write up on removing the plenum.

cheers

smithy

comeon stu dont stop me havin some fun lmao hehehehe

You'll love it! :D I'd get the turbo bypass kit while you're at it from courtesy and replace the small rubber hoses - you'll prolly break them removing it anyway. You'll need the EGR gaskets, Upper-lower intake gasket and possibly the throttle body gaskets. Unless you have replaced the PCV valves and hoses recently they will crack too.

Not *that* bad a job as long as you take your time - you seem to keep finding one more hose holding it on... I think from memory it is best to start by removing the coolant hoses from the drivers side first. There is one to the drivers side turbo, one at the back drivers side, one on the back pass side and then the feeds from the passenger throttle body. Remove the 10 (think its 10) 12mm bolts holding it on - one is a threaded stud for the throttle cover plate. Then lift the plenum and undo the EGR feeds either side - these are a PITA! First job is to remove the boost hoses obviously lol!

Erm, not that easy then :D :D :D :D.

I'm just thinking, if I have a crack at it. Will the car be finished by Billing LMAO !!!!!!!

How many hours work do you think it will take to change the injectors ?? For a mere mortal ?

Thanks for the TT.net link will check that out.

While we are on the subject, I guess it's better to replace the injectors as a set right ?. If this is the case is it worth me upgrading these while I'm at it ?. If I were to upgrade to 440's or 550's (not sure if I got either of them right), would I also have to get a chip upgrade and have the ECU remapped ?. Or could I keep the stock ECU and chip and still run 550's ?

J, how far did you say you can spit ?

I'm gonna be getting these pipes replaces too when car goes in next week.

didn't realise I need more parts (gaskets, etc).

Is that the lot Andy, or is there anything else you reckon will be

needed to replace them ?

you mentioned the PCV valves and hoses will need replacing ? are they expensive ?

stu

Stu, yes you will need a different ecu chip. Go for the 555s - you know it makes sense ;) Contact Jaypsc - he has some for sale AFAIK - even though he has bought a shit heap :D

Second Stu (LOL), don't worry, the cost of the PCV valves and hoses is minimal - about £30 ish from Nissan UK, much cheaper from courtesy. The problem is that the PCV hoses split when you remove them because they have gone hard with the heat. The valves aren't 100% necessary but for the price its worth doing while you are there. Also don't forget the breather pipes from the intake rocker covers to the turbo inlet pipes. All these are included on the PCV parts page on courtesy. The only gasket you should need is the upper-lower intake gasket - they shouldn't have to remove the throttle bodies. Another hose which splits regularly is the brake booster (and clutch booster on manuals) hose - check this and replace if cracked. That should be it. Unless they are complete monkeys in which case you may need some new boost hoses - sometimes they crack where they join the throttle bodies.

CheerZ,

sorry to hijack this thread.

finally Andy, you said for the other stu that he would need EGR gaskets (whatever they are). Will I need them or not ?

stu (still reeling at missing out on the pair of turbos on ebay that went for 84 quid the pair...arse arse arse)

Sorry yes you will need the EGR gaskets too - shouldn't cost too much tbh ;)

CheerZ,

Andy

cool.

right, I've found the egr gaskets, pcv stuff and brake booster hoses.

any chance of pointing me at the right urls on courtsey for

the 'upper-lower intake gasket' and the 'breather pipes from the intake rocker cover to the turbo inlet pipes' ?

Sure,

Upper to lower intake gasket - you're probably best emailing them and asking them for the part number.

The two hoses are on this page http://www.courtesyparts.com/z32/oe_pcv.html and are:-

11823-B PCV Hose-Turbo $6.68

11823-C PCV Hose-Turbo $10.35

Think that should be it :)

CheerZ,

Andy

Just looked on the EGR page and can't remember which of the gaskets is for the plenum. You will need 2 of them and they are both the same - I *think* its the symetrical ones but not absolutely certain - can check tonight though for you ;)

Ok last question.

Will a JWT chip be ok for the Nismo 555 injectors ?

Also how do I map it ?. Do I need to get someone with a special tool to do this for me.

Nismo 555 injectors $$$$

ECU chip - which one ? JWT ? $$$

14056-ZTT03 300ZX 1990-1993 Turbo Water By-Pass Hoses Kit (1 required) $128.38

14719-Z32TT EGR Valve Gasket - 90-96 300ZX TT (2 required) $3.40 - $6.80

Z32PCV-TT0289 Z32 PCV Hose Kit - Turbo 02/89 up to 05/90 (1 required) $49.38

11823-B PCV Hose - Turbo

11826 PCV Hose - 02/89 up to 05/90

11826-B PCV Hose

11826-A PCV Hose - 02/89 up to 05/90

11823-C PCV Hose -Turbo

Z32BR-BVHKT Z32 Brake Booster Vacuum Hose Kit (1 required) $49.32

Z32BR-BVHRH Brake Booster Vacuum Hose (RH)

14033-30P01 new intake manifold gasket 07/89 - 12/89 TT (1 required) $25.00

Is this all I need ? and do I really need this ?

Stu that list looks pretty good to me - although you have listed the kit followed by the individual parts in the kits - don't order the kits AND the individual hoses LOL actual parts list would be:-

Nismo 555 injectors $$$$

ECU chip - which one ? JWT ? $$$

14056-ZTT03 300ZX 1990-1993 Turbo Water By-Pass Hoses Kit (1 required) $128.38

14719-Z32TT EGR Valve Gasket - 90-96 300ZX TT (2 required) $3.40 - $6.80

Z32PCV-TT0289 Z32 PCV Hose Kit - Turbo 02/89 up to 05/90 (1 required) $49.38

Z32BR-BVHKT Z32 Brake Booster Vacuum Hose Kit (1 required) $49.32

24079-00002 injector connectors (2 required) $20.70 - $41.40

14033-30P01 new intake manifold gasket 07/89 - 12/89 TT (1 required) $25.00

Check the year of your car against the parts too ;) For the 555s contact JayPSC I think he actually has some for sale ;) The chip, well I'd go for the JWT - ask if anyone has one you can 'duplicate' lol

CheerZ,

Andy

Just checked the courtesy site - make sure the brake booster hoses are suitable for a RHD vehicle - they may well not fit as they attach to a different part of the plenum on LHD cars ;)

Thanks Andy,

Yeah, sorry the list was a little confusing I listed the parts that the kit consisted of. It's only the parts with the price next to them that I will be ordering.

I've spoken to Jayspc about his 555's but I have already sourced a set elsewhere ;). Need to speak to my contact.

Also I think I got the chip sorted as well ;) . Need to speak to my other contact

So, once I replace the Chip are you saying I won't have to remap it at all ?.

If this is the case, what is the benefit in fitting 555's rather than the 340 stocks ?

Wouldn't I just be wasting fuel without much of a performance increase ?

You need a JWT chip designed for 555's.

A standard JWT chip is mapped for the stock injectors and won't work with the bigger ones.

Also on the shopping list don't you need all the O rings/seals etc for the injectors?
