After a number of failed attempts, I might have a supplier in the US who is willing to make up the faces in mph for us in the UK. The faces I'm talking about will change colour from blue - light blue - green - blue green - light green - violet - cyan - indigo at the touch of a button. The kit will include the transformer and all replacement faces.

 

The rough price I have will work out to between £150 to £170, which would include shipping and taxes.

 

If anyone's interested, can you just say if your clocks are a series 1 or 2, as the fitment would be different.

 

I can't say if this will definitly come off as I've been promised by other suppliers so I'm just trying to see the interest. If we do get enough he has "promised" I will have the first one to try in abouts 2-3 weeks.

yep, indiglo where the faces are lit up (white during the day and what ever colour at night).

 

I can ask him about the reverse glow too if anyone's interested in those.

I would prefer the reverse glow when the number light up. Personally I prefer them.

i'd be interested but what is difference between series 1 + 2, how do I tell?

if I'm right in saying that it's the speedo that's different. The top 2 location holes are different.

Yes the location holes that hold the speedo into place are different on a Series 1 and 2.

 

But they do fit. I have a series 2 speedo in my series 1 dash but the location hole are in the wrong place

Any idea how they will fit on? If you take the needle off you are fecked, but I do know that some makes of indiglo gauges are big enough in the middle so you can put it on without having to take the needle off and it sits over your old dial.

Just out of interest, could I use the non-turbo dials for my TT as I'm using an aftermarket boost gauge so the stock one is redundant?

I'll ask but I think I'll need a larger number to get any deals. He was originally talking about an order of at least 50:eek:

 

I don't think the shipping will be too differenent wether I order 1 or 10, I think it's the duty that'll cost because of the value.

 

I hope to get the first one in 2 weeks, so I can check the quality and fit and then go from there. My brother is going to meet him and "check him out" first, before I pay for anything.

Vijay, just so yer know, series 1 should be 1992 or less and series 2 above 1992, there is however another difference between jap spec and UK spec dials (speedo only) in that they are calibrated differently with an extra few nothes on the end of the speedo on the jap ones as oppossed to the UK ones as they read going 10mph more, (or it could be the other way round :rolleyes: )

They say they want for starters, but will that be 50 the same. I know that it wont be hard to change the Series 1 and 2 thing, but will they do UK and Jap in the same order? When a Jap has been converted is the spacing of the numbers different. Ie. is the 60MPH and 60KPH in the same location on the dial. I know converters change the KPH dial into MPH and they both goto 180 but is the spacing the same?
