quad cam engine

Know this sounds odd but why do Nissan put twin cam on the top of the engine cover when its a quad cam?

    I think it refers to twin cams per head.

    Seriously though I have often wondered it myself.

    Maybe the Z engine started out as a straight 3 but it was shit so they used 2 and left the old cam covers on.
