My exhaust has started to blow, brilliant just what I need....NOT!!

Took it to local tyre & exhaust place and they found where it was blowing , back from the cats the next box there!....£440 + vat Nissan Part ..eek:eek:

Did a search on this wonderfull forum and found Top Gear place in St Albans. They do a full stainless steel system not including the down pipes for £470 + vat.

So I've booked it in with them for next week.

If there's anywhere cheaper please let me know!!

Cheers,

F.T.

Tony, have you looked at SE's centre section?

Z Centre maybe? Powerflow could be worth a call?

James,

Apparently the exhaust system I've been quoted for by Top Gear is a Powerflow.

Try ringing Johnny or Latz at GPS, I'm sure you get get a nice Mongoose for that sort of green!!! ;)

This what peevs me off when insurance people up the premium for SS exhausts.

Looking through my car's history, it has had 3 Nissan exhausts each lasting about 3 year before the whole system is replaced.

It then had the Mongoose installed for what was just a little more than than Nissan's one and because it is Stainless Steel, shouldnt rust.

3 years it has been on and there is not 1 bit of rust on it, but insurance companies will charge me an extra £80 for having it.

Stuart

i got mine done at st albans,i say get it,mine sounds awsome, nice n quiet inside but like a screaming motorbike outside its soooooo f%$£ing great,a friends got a mongoose system and is not happy with the sound but each to there own......

Yeah, but its because of the (supposed) performance gain and I guess they may reckon it would look more "nickable".

3 set of exhausts??

Are the roads constantly salted over there.

12 year old exhaust and not a spot of rust on mine. One of the benefits of gritting as opposed to salting roads

Tony,

I've heard about the powerflow stuff. But some guy told me that its really down to how well they put it together - as its custom made. So check out if you know someone whose used the St. Albans place.

I would personally go for the Mongoose which is made for the ZX.

Geoff.

Tony,

Having just realized that your down in Hampshire, why do you need to get it fitted in St Albans. There are branches in the south: Bournemouth and Southampton. View their web on :

Geoff.

Cheers Geoff I'll give them a ring.

Does anyone know of other places in the South where I can get a good exhuast at a reasonable price?

Cheers,

F.T.

Bought a Mongoose system from Luke at the Z Centre. Had it fitted by a local garage for next to nothing. Looks good and sounds great.
