im getting a weird creaking noise, almost spooky very agitating, sounds internal in front of driver and to the left (dash area) but get this its worse if ive just washed it??? help am i haunted

yep i reckon ive got it too, i reckon it could be part of the wipe mechanisim but cant be arsed looking.

Sometimes when im driving down dark country lanes late at night, when I glance in the rear veiw mirror I sometimes i see a man with an axe sitting in the back, but he cant be the same problem as yours as he doesnt make any noise.;)

Does it also do it with the targas out? Sure its not the bonnet catch needs adjusting? Check the boot catch also for adjustment.

 

These cars are TERRIBLE for pin pointing the source of noises....

you know the ABS does self-checks occasionally - but that's another noise I think

mine creaks too - from infront of the driver. pulled everything out, put it all back - still no joy. Finally got rid by using silicone spray down behind the dash, in between the screen and the dash. Now that the spray has dried out, it's back...

to be honest gavo i never noticed it but then all i ever heard were those hks blow off valves and the two cannons at the back:D which i miss by the way:(

I've got it too. but generally only when its cold, i.e. below 10C, when it warms up inside it goes?

Ive greased, oiled, wd40 everything in site but to no avail.

will try Jacks idea of spraying inside screen/dash.

Ray - mines a red NA with TT front and back too. Same squeak as well - silicone spray in yellow can from Harry's £3.95 - great stuff. If you want to try something interesting, clean the outside of the windscreen with it to. You'll never have to use your wipers again - above 30mph...

Mine doesn`t squeak at all. Then again mine doesn`t work either. Still.....

mines the midnight blue na with a tt front valance, no rear spoiler and 18's. i've also seen the geezer with the other red Z (J reg) in Nuneaton i think his is the one with a pair of 6" rear cans.

 

mine only comes out saturdays and sundays though.
