1.90

1.9 as in 9/10?

Or

1.9 as in just under 2/1?

You can get 2.75 with ww.paddypower.com , which is 7/4

A lot of money to be made from betting if you know what you are doing.

I have seen £10 bets will over £120,000. Be he aint thinking that.

However footballers are not good at betting

Bollox (no offence meant) - the only ppl who win from gambling are those with 'insider' information. You might have 1 lucky win, but regular gambling will always leave you out of pocket.

Don't hold back mate, tell us what you really think. ;)

Before ne1 says about fruit machines and sytems for 'playing them...........

http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/slot-machine.htm

But even though the computer tells the reels where to stop, the games are not pre-programmed to pay out at a certain time. A random number generator at the heart of the computer ensures that each pull has an equal shot at hitting the jackpot. (Click here to find out how random number generators work.)

Is no1 playin' ball ?:(

Where is the Turbot lurkin' ?;)

Nelson - a computer is unable to create a truly random, it can produce sequences of pseudo-random numbers, but to be truly random requires an analog device.

But I was unable to click on your link so I am not certain if you have considered this fact.

Fruit machines are programed to make sure they only pay out so much money after winning, and they are programmed to make it look like you are getting close to make you put more money on. That is why people who watch fruit machines in Las Vagas are kicked out because they watch a machine and estimate how much money has been put in and know that when its due to pay out.

As for people who bet. Yes horse racing is sometimes bent and people know. What is more worrying now is http://www.betfair.com where you can place a bet with other people on line and not have to take money to win. You can put a odd for a horse to win, knowing that the horse is not fit, or has no intention of winning.

However what about the people who bet on football and have a 5 match accumilator. They have a good idea who will win and who will draw and then they go searching for the best odds. Thats not fixed.

If you want a hard thing to bet on, try golf. Over 200 players and often the money to be made is trying to get the outsiders who are 100/1 or even 200/1 to come in teh top 5. How can that be bent, yet I see week after week people who get thses long shots because they know the sport, they research these players and the course they are playing, even down to researching the weather. They have 3 or 4 £10 best on these long shots, if they come in the top 5 they will get, £192 back on a 150/1 chance which means you brake even you need 1 in 19 bets to pay out. And on the odd occation when there people actually win, and it has happened and more often than you think.

For a £5 each way bet on a 150/1 golfer will pay out

£947.50

Know your sport well and prepared to put your money where your mouth is, and you can make a lot of money out of it.

P.S.

Dont look like your bet is going well ;)

:( no one told me I'm doing the wrong thing...:( *sob*

How could that had happen!!!!???!! Arsenal wasn't even playing full strength and had downed to 10men with more than 20mins on clock... anyway, sometimes we win sometimes we lose...:(

Thought I could use the money to cover the parts I purchased from AndyZ..... seemz like now I gotta pay the local bookie and save on my clubbing for AndyZ....:D :D

We have other betting system here that runs differently.. where for 1.90 odds, for a $100 bet, you win $90 but do not lose any if it's a draw game.. but lose a $100 if Arsenal wins...

If you wanna win money bet on wrestling..

£500 on Big Daddy to win please :D :D

---------------------> Wrong. Look on howstuffworks.com. Every time a fruit machine is played, the odds are the same (or virtually if u wanna get pedantic Zimon). There's no way to play them. It's a phallacy.

hope for the better this weekend...:p

havent read the whole thread as am supposed to be working so appologies if i repeat something that someone has already said the reason a computer can not develop a truley random result in anything is because it is fundamentaly a didgital system ie the only output anything has is either on or off 1 or 0 hence why computers are alson binary therfore you can not have anything that is truely random. An analouge device can be any portion of on or off therefor can be truely random as Zimon said
