Im new to this board because Ive got the baby of your cars, the 200SX.

 

I was just wondering if anyone from the merseyside area was going to Billing JAE at the end of the month, and fancied meeting up, and going in convoy??

I'm definitely going, me and my Bro, but not in a Z I doubt as mine is at SE.

 

Will either be going in my Merc or my Brothers Saab Turbo T16. Herman German, or Scandic Sven???

 

Anyway, I'm going on the Saturday I think!

 

Oh yeah, heading out of the North Wales area(de Wales, aiiiii!!!) via Chester, A5, M54, M6, M1 off towards Billing. J18 I think as I pass it every Monday and Friday.

Sounds good Stu, we could meet up at the BP petrol station just opposite the business park and park and ride(Chester) if you like. What time are you planning on setting off?

Yeah mine has been out of action for bloody ages alright - Seized the Shit outta the PS turbo.

 

Just had them both rebuilt for high HP and lots of other shit - it Currently resides in my garage without engine and tranny. Waiting for my fragile memmory to remmeber how to put it back together.

 

Paid for everything now just waiting on delivery from SGP and courtesy. After that it is just a matter of how long it takes me to put it back together really.

Jesus Nic, you took it all apart yourself, top dollar geeZer!!! I know that there are good write-ups on TT.net etc. for hiking the engine out, but I would be shit scared of taking that mother of all DIY mech. jobs on!

 

So what exactly was the extent of all the damage then? Turbo seizing, did this fuck anything else up in the process?

Nah the car was still drivable with the Seized turbo abiet very Slow (sub NA) However it is not advisable to drive it for long !

 

It was basically a carbon siezed shaft that caused it not foreign debris.

 

The Job is very big Yes - Difficult - No - there were only 3 bits that were remotely challenging - one of which was due to incompedance on a previous mechanics part.

 

I'll be doing a Tech page for this Forum - I looked thru what Damon did and it is very good altho brief and some parts are not needed. Keep an eye out for it soon - unless of course i can't get the bloody thing back together

I was forced to do some work today. DAMN. I forgot how crap work gets. Don't think they pay me enough, LOL.

 

Glad to see someone else in awe of you taking your car to pieces. I was starting to think that I was the only person on this forum who finds mounting a new license plate taxing License plate down, Empeg to go....
