Is the Zed going out of fashion or something?

I`ve never seen so many for sale. Even when I was looking for mine about a year back they were like gold dust, now they`re at dealers, on ebay, autotrader, everywhere and lots of em!

Are we experiencing a migration from the Zed or are these all just fly by night zedders?

And the boy racers get on the streets in their Zed...hit another car, bike, building etc......claims on their insurance and what do you know....schmucks like us pick up the bill for it!

Ain`t life grand........

Ahh, but can they afford the insurance????????????????

they have hit the boyracer price range

i bought my zed when it was 3 years old and i never seen a zed for 2 yrs, they are everywhere now....

..Unfortunate....

I need evidence of the costs of decent ones for the insurance...

Bugger - this merging of threads ain't as simple as it looks.

Oh the responsibilities and pressures of being a moderator !!! LOL

zeds are cheap at the moment coz they are all aproaching the witching hour..

They are all at that age where things start to go wrong, as we have seen around here lately there are probs due to age left right and centre, this obviously puts people off, i know i'm still seriously considering selling mine cos with my financial situation at the moment i cant affort to fork out for a new pair of turbos if they die, or the cam belt snaps, or whatever.

Yes they are great cars when they are on song and yes they do look beautiful but the fvckin things will bite you in the wallet at every opprtunity. therefore people are selling, hence more on the market, hence cheap cars.

imho

Always remember you get what you pay for and the v cheap ones will be quite awfull condition and prob at the end of their life, people who know they need repairs but cant repair them due to cost etc, will be desperately trying to get out of them hence low prices, before i got my first zed i went to see a number of similar aged "cheap" ones, which reeked of impending doom and gloom, with bad paint and tatty interiors, id given up hope untill i looked at a tad more expense initialy, then the quality changed drammaticaly, so fear not

i know this is a little of subject but I very keen to buy a 300zx TT 2+2 prefebly in black, yellow, silver, blue for around £3000, please anyone selling a ZX e-mail me back, im around SE London

by the way was the ZX ever produced in 2+2 twin turbo manual version? iv seen this only once ever in a mag but normally always with automatic tramsmission.

Least they are not like the GTO/3000GT. They are becoming really common. I saw 5 today and not 1 Z. There are also 3 or 4 round where I live and I see one at Uni every day.

They are boy racer price, but they couldnt afford the insurance. Some lads where speaking to me about my car and asked about the insurance and he told me he was paying £1400 TPFT on a 1.4 Corsa.

When I phoned up for insurance when I had 3 years NCB. I was told that I was very unusual as I had been driving for 3 years and have 3 years NCB, because most 17 year olds cant afford their own insurance or have a crash before hand.

The only way some one can afford the insurance at such a young age is if daddy pays for it.

Stuart

Surely its a wind up, surely to god???

Errrm, I fear not - have you seen the 20" rims thread:

would 20" with 225/35 profile tires fit a 300zx? if so would the performance/handling/brakes be badly afectted? the rims in question are mania vernmot chrome, iv seen a nova, 206 cc, 106 and other small cars running 19"s so why not 20s on a Z?

" 'nuff said" if you catch my drift. ;)

The only way some one can afford the insurance at such a young age is if daddy pays for it.

I've just turned 20, have had the Z for about 6months now and daddy don't pay my insurance, its about £1100 from insurance factory.

And i aint no boy racer, and i dont drive round and round town with the stereo a boomin.

I paid for my own at that age because I had the NCB.

Most 20 year old dont have it because they are in some one elses insurance for the first few year because its so expensive and it will very very very expensive being 20 and getting insurance with 0 NCB.

yea true actually, i pay for mine now but my dad paid the first years and we halved the 2nd.

Alot of my friends were just on their parents' policies and didnt get the NCB.

suprisingly yes.

im 19 (20 next month) don't consider my self to be a boy racer tho cuz i recon they're all gay, just look at them and you can see why;) :D

n e hows

i was quoted £200 cheaper on a J '91 ZTT than my M reg 1.8T S13

the reason they gave was that the underwriter could do it cheaper cuz its an older car and is a modern classic altho i wasn't asking for classic mileage which is less than 7k a year i believe? i was asking for around 15k a year.

i was very confused seeing as i was getting £200 less for a 3.0 v6 TT compared to a 1.8 T and group 19ins to group 17.

only reason i got the 2hundy was cuz of MPG was better

doh, forgot to say that was all quoted under my name and not dads

TPFT

19 yr old

no ncb

15k mileage

driveway parked ina good area

cat 1 alarm fitted

WEll?? how much did it cost

doh (again, tis a loopy day)

£1300 for the zed

paid £1500 for my s13

direct line was the cheapest for my rover @..................................... wait for it

£1600 TPFT:eek: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 £100 more than my s13 and £300 more than i had been quoted for the zed!!!!!!!

well shocked granted i have my insurance with another company

but still heck of a difference in performance wud have thought that the rover wud be well cheap ( tis 214 h reg)
