Just got a quote off aon. 583 fully comp at 37 with 4 years nc on a Jap tt. Other insurers I tried were pretty shocked. Another interesting quote was from A plan, that was 495 third party but the other ones too good to pass up. Aon will give you a British spec price on an import. The guy said they've been researching the situation & realise how rediculous it is. Also they don't just take your details & bang it through the computer & thats what you get, they under write it depending on things like whether you've driven high performance cars before & your clean licence etc... in other words they think about what they're doing.

Hopefully I will be purchasing my first Z tomorrow.

Oh, by the way they sound reasonable about mods. He said taking into consideration the fact I might stick a performance exhaust on because it's a lot cheaper than a standard one it might not alter the premium at all and if it did it would be hardly any thing.:D :D :D

Can you post the number to get in contact with them. Changing job so think it is a good time to tighten the belt as having to move etc. Paying close to £1k at the moment.

Do you know if HHH insure jap spec Z's ?

Failing that Aon certainly sounds worth a try !

Cheers !

Tried HHH a couple of years back and they gave me the runaround, followed by, can't quote on imports - gave up on them.

I use http://www.lifesure.com which is underwritten by AON. Similar price, similar details to top post.

Yeah - how many times have I heard that ?!

I tend to cut them short even before they've finished answering the phone to ask them if they insure imports.

Phoning round 20 or 30 companies each year; and getting the 'imports' speach, is beginning to lose it's appeal !

Cheers!

i'm with AON at the mo through insurance factory. i'll let you know how good they are after my repairs have been approved/paid for.:(

I had a quote from AON which was very reasonable.Rang back the next day to confirm and they had changed their minds and wouldn't insure me at all!

Brent, the number is 01384 552 670

I rang him back after a few more quotes & got a different guy. He got my details up & it was still the same & he's putting it in writing & sending it to me.

I'm with Aon and have been for the last 2 years, I have tried all the more well known companies and cant get a decent quote (Tesco, Direct Line, etc), even when i changed from a GT4 to the Z they were still cheaper by miles.
