If I sold my 300ZX (not decided to sell yet and car is not ready but it will be as follows if I do sell it)...how much wud I expect to get for the following...

 

1992 "J" Reg UK 300ZX TT AUTO UNMODDED. 85k miles, White, black leather, cool sound system, new rear tyres. All electrics work.

 

Bodywork is pretty good all round considering age. Full service history. Oil changed every 3k miles ! Since I've owned it, used only top tier Shell oil (Helix Ultra).

 

Would make a good base for a modded car.

I have to admit to not having used any Magic Trees !:D Could this make it difficult to sell ?

Reason for thinking of selling - I just don't get a thrill out of owning/driving it. They are great cars, but it's a bit wasted on me at the moment. Also, due to house move, think I could use the money for things I will appreciate more, and running 2 cars and paying a mortgage is a bit extravagant when u live on your own !

Depends on salary of course - as a humble lab technician, it's a bit extravagant - I think I cud afford it, just want to spend the money on other things.

I have photos and a scanner - problem is, I'm having problems connecting to my ISP after moving house AND I'm not great with computers and haven't managed to get to grips with the scanner (altho not spent much time trying :rolleyes: )

 

Do u want proof that I own 1 ? - if so, ask scoops, Timmy Turbo or FastredZ - and it was photo'd at the Derby meet last October with a pic on some website.

 

I also own an S13 200SX, which I think will become my only car. I am very fond of it and plan to mod it.

I know, but I can't expect to sell it without an inspection/test drive/viewing either.

 

I am not actually selling yet, just testing the water for a ballpark value/any interest.;)

but how would you get people interested in looking at the car or judging it initially if you cant show them what it looks like?

 

people wont drive to look at something if they havent got an idea of what it looks like? I disagree that anything could look good on a camera, unless your a photoshop genie , lots of things will show up in a photo.

 

Why dont car manufacturers advertise there cars without pictures? You could not phone a place up and get a figure of what your car is worth withouth them seeign what it looks like?

So you want someone to come and look at it.......and say how much they think it is worth? ........waste their time kinda thing? (if its not for sale?)

I must agree with the above poster....I have been looking for a UK TT for some time now (9+ months) as some of the guys on here can attest to. "Wot's my car worth" posts are kinda like having you stomach removed then being asked to walk around Harrod's Food Hall. They are a bit frustrating for me see things that "might" be for sale only for them to end up "being kept". If you wanna sell, then sell. Don't do these things half heartedly.

 

"Crap or get off the pot" is quite an apposite saying, but it is not meant to be offensive to anyone. You just get my hopes up !!!:D

 

One other thing to bear in mind is to be realistic pricewise. A couple of cars I have seen on here are not priced so. I know you all love these cars as do I, but I had to be real in selling my last and took a real kicking on what I paid for it and the running costs. I lost a wedge, but would do it again without a second thought !!!

No , never said that. Just expecting an answer like....between 5k and 4.5k OR 4.5k and 5k. Minor details don't make that much difference. It's'a stock, unmodified engine. It's in good nick etc. etc. I'm going to put a few minor details right before selling anyway, so a photo now wouldn't be worth a lot.

 

I only after a rough value to give me something to work with to make my decision as to whether to sell or not. Also wanted to see if there's anyone here interested or not.

 

But ATEOTD, it doesn't matter what I say - I am always wrong on 300z.co.uk.:(

its possibly worth 5k 4.5k and 4.5k 5k, but i have one and not interested ps got any photos

What is wrong with what Nelson posted ?

 

I think the suggestion that one should only post if one is 'serious' about selling is a bit harsh. This isn't Autotrader.

 

It will come as no surprise to anyone that I rarely see eye to eye with Nelson :D but I think everyone is entitled to post pretty much anything Z related and inoffensive.

 

And I always find Nelson threads entertaining !

When you barter in a shop - you don't always end up buying and the seller doesn't always sell - so why are cars different ?:confused:

 

I think 4.5k sounds reasonable but I am gonna put a good sound system in (no rear seats), so may want a little more.

mind you with all the weight reduction you have done on your car by now it wouldent be worth 2k :D:D:D

 

so minor details such as "its got no rear seats" ect arnt important lmao.
