Hi Guys,

there are some pictures up of the Le Mans trip on the Nikonnet site. Currently, we have pictures from me and Warren but I am expecting more to be added from the others when they get them. I'll post here everytime there are some new ones.

To get to the pictures:

1) You have to admit that a Bentley is a Bentley and NOT A BLOODY AUDI biggrin.gif

2) Go to www.nikonnet.com

3) Login as:

Login ID: andrew_ingram

Guest password: nikoneditor_-285949290

4) Click on "Albums" at the top of the page

Enjoy.

Looks fun, I will have to go next year.

I especially like the photo of Bob trying to install an alarm to a race car during a pit stop smile.gif LOL

Hi Andrew. Whilst you were at Le Mans, did you or anyone else take any pictures of the MG team? If you did can you let me know.

Thanks.

Nice pics. Thanks for showing them

How long did it take you to uplaod them?

Its taking ages for me to look at one

Stuart

Ajay, the only MG shots I took are those ones in the pitlane from the the Friday. I'm sure that some of the other guys got a couple of the cars moving. I'll let you know if I get any.

Stuart, it took a few minutes to upload them all. I've got ADSL running at 7Mb/sec smile.gif

I'm missing it all already. Can't wait for next year.

LOL The MG'S Werent out on the track long enough to take a photo of them lol

The last MG retired at 4:30am - number 33, so if you can't get a photo in just over 12 hours, I reckon you need a faster camera! smile.gifAlbeit that 34 spent 3 hours in the pits after an oil problem .... so all the time it was being pushed back into the pits at a speed of approximately 2 metres per hour downhill was ample! biggrin.gif

the mg's were not officially retired during the race, but were both about 5 laps down two hours into the race, cause they were being rebuilt avery lap.

the engine kept blowing.

There was an interview with Hugh Chamberlain on the Sunday morning where he said that 33 had retired. The problems were with the oil leaking and 34 blew a head gasket, among other things.

Mark says that he's never felt anything like the rush when 34 came into the pits and he knew that it was down to him a 3 others to fix it and get it up and running as soon as possible.

Wish I could have been there...next year, definitely.

its a real pity cause they looked so good, and ran quit quickly when they were running.

And look, this must be the pit for the BENTLEY...Brit. flag but AUDI car...LMAO!

hehe. I'm not even gonna bother posting the REAL Bentley pit garage.

Funny you chose the Gulf Audi garage too as they used last years Audi engine (just like Bentley).

Nice pics. Andy, some seriously nice cars there! Looking forward to going next year hopefully. Can you hire trailers or caravans though? Don't fancy tenting it for 2/3 days, or even a nearby hotel would be nice!

Went to Reading Festival last year and was glad that I'd booked into a nice hotel for the weekend. Camp site was just a mass of dirty students that just got drunk and stoned all night and stank for the whole weekend...yuck! Smelly students!

You can go the hotel route but I'm not sure that I'd recommend it (and I had never been camping before so I am "mr hotel"). It's just nice to be in the campsite with all the other car nuts and to be only 2 minutes walk from the track. You can get a hotel, and they aren't too pricey, but you'd have to think about getting there and back several times a day.

Camper vans are great - apart from the drive down to Le Mans smile.gif Not sure where to rent there but the guys camping next to us rent them in the UK.

Staying in a tent is no big deal unless the weather is really bad. This year, the weather started off ok so it was only a day and a bit with crap weather. Any longer in bad weather and I'm sure a few of us would have started staying in the cars or looking for somewhere else as it can get a bit depressing. I'm happy to take my chances in a tent for next year (especially if you are nearby in a camper van smile.gif )

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to let you all know that there are about 20 new pictures on Nikkonnet from the Le Mans trip. Unfortunately, I can't order the album so they are out of sequence and they are the last 20 pictures in the album. Use the thumbnail view to skip over the old pics.
