Hey like to say that i now own a zed!! (down side is dont pick it up till the 8th of march!!) its a jap import 1995 twin turbo just one querry so far (im sure there will be more in time!) there was no boost gauge in the car is this right for the later model cars or is there something strange going on??

You mean no boost gauge on the dash???

You're from Brighton?? they've started work on the marina already and it says will last for 18 months....my fav surf spot on sth coast is ruined!!!! oh well, up to hot pipes I suppose. You surf at all?

Yeah i thought that but has twin turbo written on the engine couldnt jack it up to look for the turbos! you cant say for certain if it should of had one (obviously wont buy it if it is supposed to!!) as for the marina they are doing shed loads of work down there!! i have never surffed im affraid more of a dougnutting ski type of guy!

Hmmm, seems pretty odd to me. Not 100% but pretty sure all TT's have a boost gauge!

James it is black which is always a bonus hehe will probably see you down there as long as its got a TT engine im not to fused as it drove lovely felt like a turbo i was gonna have after market gagues put on anyhow how about yours?? happy surff hunting!

Just look at the front bumper - TTs have the cooling ducts for the ICs in the lower corners of the bumper - slatted kind of thing. NAs don't have these at all....

 

Just one other thought - do you mean it didn't have an AFTERMARKET boost guage??? The stock guage is in the bottom half of the rev counter.....

I'm pretty sure its in the bottom half of the speedo (at least in imports) . The bottom of the rev counter is oil pressure I think?

That's a TT bumper.. But your guages should look like this;

 

 

Either you have bought an NA, or you've got a TT with no boost guage..

 

Easiest way to check - open the bonnet and look at the front of the engine.

 

You should have FOUR intake pipes - two will come up either side of the rad and go to the throttle bodies (top of the engine), and two will come from further down at the side of the engine, and go to two pipes again at the side of the rad, like this;

Obviously your boost pipes will probably be black rubber, not shiny stainless..

Welcome to zed-ownership mate! I drove mine to work today for the first time since the weekend (petrol costs etc :rolleyes: ) and I'm still grinning :D :D !

 

Yep the bumper on the right hand zed is the twin-turbo one.

Thanks pete think my mind has been put to rest as for petrol costs and stuff cant be more expensive than the lotus im getting rid off so i too shall be grinning like the chesire cat in 2 weeks :D

Suppose it may have just had a new speedo fitted - but an NA one - possible.......

I believe that late model Zeds lost the boost gauge.

Thanks Andyp im qiute sure it did have 4 intake pipes and yes they were boaring black rubber never know may be shinny stainless ones one day haha
