Hi All.

Been far too long since being on here. Feel disgusted it's been over 18 years since my Z has seen the road. I should have tended to her far earlier.

She's been started and run periodically with a jump pack and always fired up straight away and had done so all these years.

Been a few months and decided to fire her up to move, as usual she struck up straight away with jump pack but instantly died and hasn't started since.

When turning ignition on noticed I couldn't hear pump prime, so checked relay and seemed to be ok but doesn't seem to be getting triggered.(Bypassed relay at connector, pump could be heard) I thought when checking it must just be fuel problem but when checking it seems there is no longer spark either.

Checked the obvious fuel pump relay, fuse, egi relay, ign coil relay but appear to function. Getting 2 power feeds to the relay when I checked at connector but no click when turning ignition on. So appears for some reason I've lost fuel and coils being triggered.

I'm no mechanic or electrical technician but very willing to listen and take any appreciated advise that anyone can give to hopefully get life back into the old girl so I can start her well deserved restoration.

Just couldn't understand how she fired up first touch of the key as usual then instantly shut off????

Any insight greatly appreciated 👍

Sorry for delay it's a manual. Yes starter engages and turns engine. Thanks for replying.

If the car has been sat it is very likely the fuel tank & pump are rotten inside.I would pull the sender unit out & take a look.

Things have been hectic so nothing has got any further since first thread unfortunately

If anyone can give any pointers to trying to find a cure to the problems it would be greatly appreciated. Between the showers today had a quick look. Took fuel pump relay out of plug and there seems to be 2 power feeds to this plug whether the ignition is off or on which I thought odd ?????

Hi All

As I'm no expert I'd really appreciate any input on how to continue with hopefully finding my fault please.

I put ignition on, turned dial on ecu clockwise for 3 secs then back to hopefully get a code to narrow down problem but no light unfortunately.

I then disconnected ecu turned ignition on and used test light to check what pins were receiving power. I have added photo showing powered pins highlighted. Strangely pin 49 and 59 had nothing (so I suppose that answers why no light + fault) also pin 32 was markedly dimmer for some reason???

Any info on how to move forward with further testing would be great, (in simplest of terms please as not a wiz at this sort of thing)
