My bonnet insulation was getting a bit tatty, so I have removed it. What can I use instead and does it have to be bonnet insulation? Not looking for chrome/mirror look.

Its not insulation as such, its a fire blanket !

If a fire starts in the engine bay the plastic grommets melt and the shield drops down and give the occupants a little longer to get out.

Now discontinued by Nissan I was lucky enough to find a new one on ebay many years ago . Might still be a few about.

If someone has the part number, try looking it up on Amayama - they often still have stock of some things which have been discontinued.....
