Just had a look at mine today and it’s definitely this empty plug on mine.

Cheers for looking. I wonder if it's something the Nissan technician uses to plug something in?

My cars been off the road for over 10 years. I was just about to put it through it's mot, when I realised the instrument cluster lights weren't working. I was hoping this plug was the answer, and i just needed to plug it in somewhere.

It must be an extra like heated mirrors or something else.

I used to own a UK spec with heated mirrors and this plug was always spare. 

 

I've always presumed it was a test location. 

Mine has it as well. Its for plugging into the matrix... just dont get caught by any agents...
