Sold the Zed yesterday to the first person who looked at it. It still hasn't sunk in yet. I picked up its replacement (an Audi A4 diesel estate) this morning and was bored in about 5 minutes. The Zed was 13 years old and still had more gadgets and stuff to keep me entertained

I might be back with another Zed at some point once I can get some cheaper insurance, hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did

Why couldnt you get cheaper insurance? Did you try to get classic.?

Stuart

Oh noooo, Dylan! Why did you sell? There are plenty of places that can do cheaper insurance... :(

Hope you get a Zed again soon.

so your saying you used to have a Z, motorbike and a westfield. dam you make me so jealous

I am the happy buyer of Dylan's Zed.

I had my Nisasan 200SX stolen on Christmas Eve (with the family Xmas dinner still in the boot). I was thinking about trading up to Zed in any case.

Dylan,

I would like to make arrangements to pick the car up at the weekend - when would be most convenient for you ?

I am very happy Dylan sold it :)

Can't wait to see it !!!!

John is very happy so am I:D

It has gone to a good home

Don't think I can get classic insurance as its an import. By cheaper insurance I meant keeping it as an extra car just to use at weekends. I did get quotes of just over £500 if I had a CAT1 alarm fitted but the £500+£160 road tax+cost of fitting CAT1 alarm is just too much for occasional use. As a comparison my Westfield costs £99 a year to insure so is worth keeping for occasional use, as is the motorbike at £120 per year (road tax at £60 per year and MOT is £13). Both are faster and more fun but not ideal as all round whatever the weather transport. I bought the Z as an all round every day day and for that it was superb.

If I miss the Z too much then I'll buy a UK spec manual as it'll be cheaper and easier to insure

Gutted Dylan :(

I know its too late now but you can get classic insurance on J-Spec imports. I have just been quoted £470 and £415 from lifesure and the insurance factory respectively.

If you even down Bournemouth way again get in touch, perhaps one day i'll get a go in the westfield :D

See ya

Martin

Humph! sorry to hear that there old Dylan mate :(

There is only one consolation bud, you can now buy used chip fryer fat from Manuels TacoBellend and mix it with some methanol from the local model shop.. wahay 3pence a liter fuel man !

Nice one.. always said you were environmentally friendly bud ;)

I hadn't even thought of that. The new car is a bit too nice to risk that for the mileage I'll be doing. Don't think the warranty company would be too impressed. I wish I'd bought an old mundano now, I could have tried it in that. 3 pence a litre, I could have bought a mansion with the money I would have saved in the last 2 years

How's the Skylark compare to the Z now you're used to it?
