Hi All,

I'm starting to look into speakers and wanted to check sizes. Could someone confirm if the below sizes are correct?

- Fronts: 6.5"

- Rears: 4" x 6"

Mines not a Bose system - I believe they had different speaker sizes.

Also has anyone been able to fit tweeters onto the backs of the mirrors? (the trim that covers the fixings for the wing mirrors). I believe AndrewG custom made a trim piece to fit the tweeter into. Has anyone else managed to do this?

Thanks.

You can get 6.5” in the front but you’ll need a chamfered MDF ring to enable it to fit into the bracket. Andrew can probably help with the details of this. You’ll also have to consider the depth restrictions of the magnet with the glass down when choosing speakers. There are a few people with tweeters in the sail panels, a decent SQ mod and looks nice if done as well as Andrew’s.

The stock, non-Bose speakers are 6-4” in the back but I honestly wouldn’t bother. It’s a controversial and well discussed topic on audio forums but the general consensus (and my own opinion) is; that the sound stage, SQ and balance is much better with a front component set only (assuming you’ll be stitching in the low frequencies with a subwoofer in the back).

Very helpful, thank you 👍. Would very much appreciate if you could send over the details of the speakers you have installed? so I can check specs for the front speaker dimensions (depth in particular). I'm going with the Cerwin Vega spare wheel well sub that Vig has installed, as it's the best option for Z32's IMO. Apparently a really punchy unit that more than does the job. I'm not a huge audio guy, just want to have a nice clean sound with some bass.
