Hi people,

can any1 help, i just fitted my blitz boost controller yesterday and when i went for a couple of test runs, the sound became quite apparant!

its like as if the turbos cant handle the boost, when the boost is building up it sounds rather like a whiny kind whistle or something. but as i gradually pick up it changes to something like a 'large bucket, being jet sprayed'...if that makes sense:confused:

running less then 1bar, gain 6 ratio 45...

what ya recken fellas?

Sounds like a boost leak somewhere! Happy hunting!

Shite, roy do u reckon it could be someting else?

also if it is a leak, how can locate it?

cheers

jaz

I can hear my turbos from the front of my car. Do I have a leak? Its not as bad as that I can just hear a whispy whistle.

Jaz, the best way is to pump air into the intake and make sure its sealed there. You then listen for any air coming out.

Stuart

cheers stu,

mate at a certain point its more than just a whistle! and it doesnt happen without the boost controller?

also stuart, when u say pump air into the intake, what would u use (tool that is)? aint got no compressor?!? or is that a bit 2 much air:eek: ...lol

jaz

I cant remember. I think a compressor is better, but you can put too much air into it. :(

I have never had any whistler from my car, however while driving in Epping yesterday evening, I was follwing three cars doing about 55mph (don't worry it was a 60mph zone ;)) . The next thing I know this large rock (part of a pavement kerb) appeared in the road, the other cars went stright over it without a problem. unfortunatley my car is a fair bit lower than theirs. I hit the rock and dragged it under the car for about 50 meters until I stopped. I had to jack the car up slightly to get it out from underneath the car (it was wedged). Now I also have a whistle while accelerating, seems to happen from about 3.5k rpm onwards it's loudest in first gear. Have I got a boos leak or do you think this rock has done some serious damage ?

Stuart,

Make sure you tell your insurance company as I'm sure that you can sue the Local Authority ,who are supposed to maintain their roads correctly and not have bits of pavement damaging vehicles on their roads.

If you can get photos so much the better.

Cheers,

F.T.

havent had a chance to check yet, but maybe im just being para???

My car is screaming like mad. I love it.. And I am on stock Turbos with no BOV. Can't wait to get my TurboX blow offs.

But the sound of B&B Triflo exhaust together with the sound of the turbo makes a really good bitch screaming.
