We have but a week and a day now...... I'm still being optimistic, but not banking on it.

I'll still be going though - just not in my Zed, if the roads are still covered in salt ?

Yep...not sure about this weekend. No forecast of rain though it is warmer but they were salting the roads as recently as the weekend down here.

I've just booked onto this one which is the following weekend and more local to me. Have been to a C&C at this venue before with Collecting Cars which was very good. Not sure this one will be as well attended but hopefully the roads will be cleaner and warmer.

MB world is always a great place to visit - and just across the road from The Brooklands Museum too.... Just clicked on the link though and sadly it's sold out now ?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

....And to add, I'm still going to this - two tickets bought and paid for.... And being as accountant, I'm not wasting my £10 LOL!!

It's been raining here all day, so hopefully the salt is being washed away. The weather looks warmer for Sunday, so at the moment, I'm still planning on bringing the Zed too ?

Raining here too so I'm thinking I'll still do this weekend. Will see what the rest of the week holds weather-wise but hopefully all ok!

Good call mate - hope to see you (and Andrew) there?

I've been thinking a bit more on this and I may have to bail on this weekend. Temps are looking to be slightly either side of zero between now and the event so there's a reasonable chance roads will be gritted between home and Bicester. I don't have my Range with me so no alternative transport. A shame...I was really looking forward but hey ho. Lots of events in the year to look forward to once the weather improves!

Same situation with me so unfortunately I won't be making it this time.

Definitely be out to a lot of the shows for the rest of the year including the AGM, just don't want to risk it this time of year.

Have a great time guys and look forward to seeing photos! I'll instead spend the day doing some bits to the Z - update to follow on project thread.

Looks like its just you and me @RichardS

Glad to hear you're still heading up Tom. Rob (Howl) is coming too - albeit not in his Zed..... And Ian hasn't ruled himself out yet either.

Neither Rob nor me have an excuse, as we're both only 30-40 minutes away from Bicester ?

I can meet you en route Ian as I'm coming along the M25.

Everyone else: we can meet at the Esso EG petrol station just off the roundabout by the M&S foodhall at 08:30?

Sounds like the best option for me - I assume this Esso is near the venue, Tom ?

I'll be joining the M40 at j5 (Stokenchurch) around 8am.

Anyway, car is having a good clean tomorrow and then back to bed for a month or so before the next trip somewhere!

The location was fantastic, an old air base with all the cars parked randomly between all the buildings looked really cool! Also, being a morning only, there was no pressure to stay all day to 'make it worth it'. You could easily pop up to the show for an hour or two, have a coffee and wander around, then go back to family life/jobs/chores in the afternoon. I did, even with a 2.5 hour drive each way! I was happy, wife was happy, government fuel duty was happy! All winners....!

Anyway, here is some porn....

Yup - was a good morning indeed - and the first one of 2023....! It was exactly as Tom says, a great opportunity to stretch the Zed's legs on a little blast, after being in the garage for what seems like ages. Also nice to catch up with a few members again, have a chat over a sausage and bacon roll, and mull over a few ideas for some events and meets later in the year.

Thanks for sharing your pics Tom, I'll get some up in an hour or so.

Oh yeah, and blue Zeds are still fastest Tom - what happened to you and Ian on the way home......? You only caught up with me after I had slowed to leave the M40 at J5, LOL ?

A few more....

.....Including Rob's engine bay and a nice Mk4 Supra, which I had the pleasure to meet (and share some mutual admiration) on the M40, heading there ?
