Started to get a horrible rattle on the Z at low revs, so i got it on the ramp and noticed the down pipe heat shield is coming loose. I’ve clamped it for now but i want to remove for new, as it has a SS cat back exhaust fitted. Any opinions on what to get?

also I noticed that the Co sensors have both been cut, any ideas why someone would do this?

By sensors do you mean the ones almost at the cats themselves? If so they're not the O2 sensors. They're just temp sensors and I think most Zeds have had them removed by now. Both of mine have.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Yes they are near the cats and the wires go up into the floor.

several options, I think z-centre sell stainless downpipes, or an exhaust maker could make you a set, same size as your cat back.

Thanks i will look on Zcentre.
so the cat temperature sensors are not needed?

Also how are people getting on with their cars going through mot’s without cats fitted?

This is the flowchart that should be followed for an MOT emissions test. The important point is that the

Z32 300ZX is NOT in the "EGA database or the In-service Emissions book"  So for Z32s first used before

August '95 a "Non-cat test" should be followed. Also make sure that the tester is not using another Z model

from the EGA database, for example a Z33 which is in the database and therefore is CAT present tested. It has

happened.
