Ok I have a feeling I already know what the answer is going to be on this BUT as always grateful for the knowledge of you guys.
while lecturing my bro to change the belt on his Alfa GT I realised the Timing belt on my 91 twin turbo in mileage has done only about 16k mainly easy road miles with regular oil changes BUT in terms of age it was last changed 15 years ago.
SO - is the belt still ok or needing changed  just down to age?
Thanks again for any advice.

Change it. At that age it'll be well on its way to be perished. The peace of mind it offers is worth it alone.

Do the full 120k service and have the cam seals changed as well.

Definatly heed this advice,

however this is not always true. When Jim did my belt last year, it was the original belt from the factory making it 31 years old. We looked at the belt and it looked as good as new. No cracking, no perishing, nothing at all. Only way we knew it hadnt been changed was that it had all the original "hamburger" nissan logos on it which Jim told me that it was an original factory belt from the time the car was built. I wish I had kept it as a memento it was that impressive....

However, I am glad I changed it ?

That’s amazing- but I guess rare.
for peace of mind alone I will change it

For sure and as others have said, 100% do the full 120k Service. There’s lots of important components in the service kit which you wouldn’t necessarily know are on their way to failure or already failed, until you see the condition of the parts when removed. As an owner of 20+ years, I’m sure you know where to find the kit - CZP/Z1 etc. No matter how good your car is maintained (which mine was by previous owners), Nissan designed the service schedules with the knowledge of how long each part should last, so should really carry out these works when recommended, in my opinion.

My car has only done 76k miles so I would never have thought to do a 120k service. Thanks for the great advice.

No worries at all.

I thought it was mileage based as well but then read the factory service manual and also saw the Z32 Wiki page, explaining the 60k belts and all the tensioners etc should be done every 4 years. They recommend just getting the full 120k service done. Here’s the link: https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/Timing_Belt_Service

As Therealnips has said, the belt will probably be alright to go past the 4 years, as I’m sure most owners don’t change them that often, but on my car, I won’t be leaving it much past that point. I had mine done in 2020 - the last owner from memory had a 60k service done maybe around 2015 and 35-40k miles before. I remember my cam seals were rock solid and some other parts of that list were knackered also. Surprised me for only 5 years since the last service.

Anyway good luck with the works [emoji1417][emoji846].

Thanks for the link I will have a read at that.
It makes sense to get it done especially as I’m going to make the trip down to powerzed to get it done. ?

Just thought I’d there a link I can download or buy the factory service manual?
thank you

There use to be an android app too. But he pulled it from the app store. Someone might have the .apk for it though.
