Hey, what are the differences between S1,S2,S3 and S4 automatic TT gearbox ? I was told the S4 boxe are stronger and internals have been uprated

Featured Replies

I never knew there was such thing, but I never knew there was a 98 spec manual till I bought one. Same as what you have said stronger and better internals.ย

I wasn't aware there were any differences either - all I know is that the J-spec autos have selectable hold and sport modes whereas EU/UK specs don't.

And whilst not mechanically attributable to the auto 'box itself, the EU/UK spec cars have a better oil cooling facility, in recognition of the more sustained high speed driving we do, compared to in Japan.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As Richard said, is my understanding too. My red Zed s2 was uk and had no hold and power and an extra oil cooler. My silver one now has the buttons (not for long though?)ย
