Hi All,

Just to introduce myself.  Am the proud owner of a twin turbo manual that I acquired a couple of weeks ago - have been dreaming of getting a 300zx for several years....  It's UK spec and was converted from auto about 15 years ago.  Generally it appears in good condition with very little rust anywhere since it has been garaged for 20 years.   However I can't drive it at the moment since just had surgery on my shoulder - may keep it boxed for now and then get it out again in the spring if I can resist for that long!

I'll be doing lots of servicing on it since I'm not 100% sure how up to date it is on various fluids and filters etc.  The cam belt was done 20K miles ago so should be ok for now but that was 18 years ago so I may look to get it done soonish anyway...

The only other issue is an intermittent fault where the speedo goes haywire and then the power steering plays up.  Reading around some of the posts on here it looks like I need to get the speedo instrument cluster out and check solder joints on the back?  Will check this out in due course...

Regards

Ed

Speedo thing can also be a poorly shielded KPH-MPH convertor. My last Zed suffered from it regularly until I replaced it. Current one is fine.

Welcome btw.

Welcome to the Club Ed and thank you for your support! Great to see another UK spec on the mend.

Re speedo - also check the speed sensor and wiring/connector on the gearbox.

You should replace the cam belt (service interval 60K or 5 years).

If you PM me the VIN of the car I will add it to the UK specs database I am building. In the meantime you can look up the details here:

A great purchase, welcome to the club. Looking very clean in those pictures. Lovely TVR also [emoji41], would love to get one some day.
