Thought it was the speakers in the Z but finally traced it to the overhead console with the 2 interior light buttons

Is this a type of fan / ventilation system that is making the noise?

So i've just got a noisy one!:)

It's a sign of it failing. Or that's its full of fluff or other rubbish. Worth taking it off and giving a clean. It shouldn't be making a noticeable noise unless you have hearing like Spock.

Probably is full of fluff as the Z had been of the road for 5 years now.... will give it a good clean as it noticeably loud and irritating as soon as the ignition is on!

Cabin temperature sensor - along with clean and applying a light grade oil, you can also adjust the set screw - correct tension is

necessary for the fan to work without squealing. Otherwise replace with new Part#27720-31P00

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

As Andrew has correctly stated a tweak of the screw on the spindle will cure it in 99% of the cases.I tighten it until the fan is locked then back it off 1/4 of a turn.

Update:) I eventually found the little adjuster screw which was hidden by bits of foam / fluff and proceeded to slacken off then tighten whilst listening... now fan is running but you cannot hear it unless you put your ear right up close, so all resolved, thanks for the input?

Surprisingly went straight through, didn't advise me on anything, quite pleased because J300 SWB has been off the road for long enough!!
