So I have had this idea kicking around for a while, ideally over a week in June for my birthday.

It would be a John O' Groats to Lands End road trip, but visiting the REOs and members along the way. Each section of the route would be planned by different people i.e a northern Scottish owner would know the local roads and plan A to B for us, then a southern Scottish owner would plan B to C and so on working our way down the country. The fun would be that some people would do the whole trip, while others that couldn't would join us for a day/morning/afternoon drive. We could have lunches along the route at places to have "mini meets". We would stay in hotels along the route. I had in mind:

John O'Groats to Oban = 220 miles

Oban to Keswick = 225 miles (Would like to detour via Stranraer to see if we can get some of the Northern Ireland and Ireland guys over to meet us)

Keswick to Snowdon = 200 miles

Snowdon to Bristol via Brecon Beacons = 200 miles (we could have a mini meet at Jimmers?)

Bristol to Lands End = 200 miles

All mileage would change depending on the routes planned, but I don't think we would be driving more than 4-5 hours each day with stop offs of course. It would be 4 nights plus the nights either side to get to the start point and home after the finish point. I think it would be great fun to meet all the members that struggle to get to meetings and they will have local knowledge of the areas we would drive through to make the route/roads more fun and of course we get to drive our zeds!

Let me know if you are interested in either taking part or planning part of the route!

Thanks guys! It been a really good trip! The weather in Scotland wasnt ideal (as you will see from the GoPro footage) but it was worth it and the weather got better and better as we headed south.

Here are some stats for the trip:

Capture.PNG.c6e6737068b9375ceef732e6200cefc1.PNG

Mileage is slightly off because this is from my fuel app and I didnt fill up when I got home, but total was 2311 for me (Eastbourne to Eastbourne). The mpg was pretty good, the 9th, 10th and 11th were mostly spent on motorway driving up to Wick so were just cruising, but apart from about 200 miles of motorway, the rest of the trip was A and B roads. I was impressed with @Aff68 car, although modified and tuned, it didnt drink much more than mine. Whenever we dicussed tank levels, his needle was only a few millimetres lower than mine. Hopefully this can be a good guide to someone else planning/budgeting for a roadtrip in the future.

Im now going to start editing the videos and hoping to release a couple over the weekend for you guys!

@TheRealNips thanks. My fuel bill totalled £940.42 which as you say Tom is very decent as mine is modified. My right  foot was heavy after I got pasted the M5 roadworks ?

Video of Day 1 is here!

This day was all motorway driving, so I tried to capture the excitement of starting the car for the first time for a roadtrip and the motorway crusing as a bit of a montage...

p.s Try and watch it on a big screen with good sound for the (hopefully) best experience. It will be a bit blurry in a few places as I had to use software to zoom in. On our first day we didnt realise how close we needed to be to the GoPros to get close up shots

Video of Day 2 is here!

This day was all the way up the A9. A mix of dual and single roads. The last 50-odd miles into Wick were amazing, twists and turns, over hills, along the coast, well worth doing if you can as it forms part of the NC500!

Please try watching on a big screen with good sound as I have tried to preserve the quality again.

Day 5 is here!

237 miles total. Started in the morning with Wrynose and Hardknott passes, then a bit of M6, into Wales and down the Barmouth. So much good footage from this day, it was hard trying to choose and not make an hour long video!
