Hi guys

Ive got the plenum off my car at the moment to replace the injectors, I’m going for the Nismo 740cc.

Now my harness is in a really poor state and really could do with replacing. Obviously I’m going to go with the “95 harness but I don’t know if it’s a job that’s beyond me. It looks reasonable accessible now, has anyone got any experience with changing these at home. I know Jimmer can do it with the engine in but can us mortals manage it? Have we got a guide anywhere?

Ive already got a late CAS unit to go in and I can buy the S2 PTU when I do pull the trigger. Is there anything else to consider?

  Cheers,

Chris.

The hard part is ac system.I cut the loom at the bulkhead as it saves dragging the ecu plug back through. The easiest way  in reality is to de gas the AC system and remove the evaporator from behind the glove box which also has to come out along with the heater blower motor.I have managed several times now to do it with the evaporator left in but detached from its upper fixing on the dash bar.You have to force it down for access to the metal guide plate fitted over the loom as it exits the inside. That is held on with 2x10 mm nuts which are very tricky indeed.I use a qtr drive set up  along with a wobbly joint. You will have to bend yourself up to do it but it is possible.

Try wiring specialties,

The harness they do comes with options for sub looms and fits all versions of the zed and it comes with multiple connections for the likes of different CAS and so on.

I have one fitted to my zed; never had an issue and i fitted it myself.

I think they are a bit shonky being honest Lee,After a few years they look ancient and do not stand the test of time at all,I would rather have a left hand drive OEM loom than a WS rhd one.

Get ready to get yourself into some wonderful positions, all fine and dandy if your flexible and fit.

But you may wanna take the front seat out so you don't break your back ?

I found it a lot easier with the seat removed and i could lay down and pull the loom through the bulk head.
