Hi all I bought a 300 a couple weeks ago and I’m slowly crossing off all the things wrong with it and one of those things were the mirrors not being hooked up upon inspecting the drivers side mirror I found that it was a mirror with heating so I cut away the little strip of plastic blocking the original 1991 clip from going into the mirrors wiring and got it connected but the mirror will only fold in but won’t adjust. Anyone know what it could be?

How many wires are at the mirror, 5 or 7 ?

Have you popped the glass out to look at the reverse ?

7 wires on the mirror and 5 at the car side of the connector

Hi Luke,

What kind of zed do you have, UK / JAP ?

The wiring seems to change also depending on the year, maybe the previous owner tried to botch install the loom from another zed.

Or it may be just a bad connection to the controls.

It was imported from Japan. The left mirror does what it’s supposed to but that one had a 5 pin connector.

Welcome to the Club Luke. Can you post a photo(s) of what you have done to the mirror connection(s)

spacer.pngOn the larger connector there is a little spline on the right side that blocks a 5 pin from going in. I removed it the plug went in and the mirrors folded

Look at the pin spacings. The the pin arrowed should go to A, but from the marks on the plastic is going into position B with no connection.

Thanks a heap I cut off the connector and wired them together and it works now. I’ll remember to look out for that in future
