Hi ive just removed my  fuel tank  so I can do a bit of welding  I was thinking of  powder coating the tank an a few bits  why there off as anyone  done this I was worried the tank might have  the   the two external  pipes  may be solder on an where it's press  together thanks

I just de-rusted mine with hammerite Kurust and then covered it in waxoyl. I had to replace the straps once as they were too far gone, but I bought some off a breaker and did the same process to them. I am always slightly apprehensive about powercoating....I feel that when it starts cracking, it lets moisture in and rusts from underneath without you ever seeing and warning you.

Thanks  I think I sand it down  primer  them paint  with  hammerite  smooth
