Red twin turbo LWB, 1992 model, registered November 1992, has the Veilside bodykit which now looks horribly outdated... Auction Grade 3.5 but does suggest bodywork needs

attention in a few areas but nothing major, is non-accident vehicle

  • Yes Naz will do no probs... from now on I will be watching all interesting ZX's in Japan and will continue updating this forum if people want me to?

  • Another ZX, 99 spec in yellow, slicktop non-turbo manual, registered July 1997, Auction Grade 3.5, start price is 320K JPY, up for auction on the 22nd April...

  • Here we go... exterior Grade is 4, and does look very very clean, but interior is Grade C, (steering wheel worn), so likely someone who wore a ring done all the driving / mileage...

Will be very interesting to see what both of these vehicles fetch, as the prices in Japan are rising all the time for the ZX's

Very interesting to see actually. What website do you look at for these auctions? Prices will surely be rising as these cars get rarer and rarer. That 99 spec looks gooood and would easily be better with some decent wheels.

Have you still got your green ZX Tony?

No I sold it when we got our Afgan hound because he wouldn't fit in it and with any luggage !

The cobalt green ZX was a good one, I still remember making you the number plates to resemble Tony more than K70 NYB!!

Yes without a doubt, I have a friend who sends me the odd interesting car, I think he uses SBT Japan to check for cars

Interesting... there is an upcoming SWB TT auto, 93 model, TK3 blue, Auction Grade 4, very clean car with a genuine 23,000 miles...

Now... that could/should be a keeper for someone in the UK!!

Leather on steering wheel gets over heated in the sun in Japan so it deteriorat's very fast and is very common.

Yup - and 1990s Japanese leather was never that great quality.

One minor point Lee - you mentioned it was a shorty, that one has back seats mate:classic_wink:

Tidy looking Zed though - and in the nicest colour!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yeah definitely the best colour - blue all the way haha.

As it’s a Lwb you can probably buy this one then Lee!

? Haha, how did I get that one wrong!! it is indeed LWB and not SWB!! the Canadian and US markets are pushing the prices up on most 90's performance Jap stuff, so let's see what this one fetches... goes through on the 25th April

Sold for 815K JPY, need to add agent fee's in Japan, so approx another 100K JPY, so you can say 915K JPY... which equates to approx £7,000 in Japan, plus shipping and UK taxes...

Price was actually less than I was expecting, probably due to the current global coronavirus situation, meaning cars will naturally be making less at auction because afterall as much as we love our cars, there are more serious things going on...

Out of interested I calculated that the blue low mileage ZX would land in the UK at just over £10,000, add in transport, MOT and registration fee's so approx. £10,500 OTR...

Just a little update, both the red and yellow ZX did not sell, and are still available to be re-auctioned on the 29th.... last time round the red one made 499K JPY and the yellow made 320K JPY....

That’s interesting to know actually. Jap imports aren’t the crazy bargain I remember them being, like back around 2000-2005 when my older bro had a z32 NA and R33 gtst. That’s still a good price for a low mileage car mind you.
