Hi all,

The club as it stands is more than just a forum and we would like our members to have the same opinion and support it.

Having rich content, lots of videos, pictures, online competitions and other features would enhance the club 10 fold.

Thats all great but we have an issue and its the root of our enture website and forums.

The forum is run on vBulletin version 4.2.5, which has been for the over 10 years the back bone of this clubs social hub,

However vBulletin has run its course and has become end of life with no futher updates and is rapidly falling behind in both

features and security.

vBulletin has an upgrade path which is called version 5 and is a complete disaster; we attempted an upgrade at the start of the

year and quickly moved back after multple failures with the system.

If we want to stay ahead of the game then we simply need to upgrade our system.

But vBulletin isn't going to cut it so its time to change things completely and migrate to a new platform.

Invision Community is the new system i propose we get.

You can all go and see it in action at :

https://invisioncommunity.com/

This new software is not simply Forum orientated so we can create a full rich website full of content pulled directly from the community.

Every member can have there own Blog section, Gallery (that works) and many more features.

The mobile experience is first class too as you no longer have to zoom in to click forums or to read threads.

This new platform is top quality and has great support from the creators and owners who create their own apps for it.

If you want a quick view of what the forum side of it looks like go here :

https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/

This upgrade will be a major game changer for us but i hope that it will bring together even closer what a great community we have.

Everything is now fully operational and functional.

only thing that needs sorted is how the hell we migrate the current subscriptions.

Seems no easy way to do it and even by a manual process its near impossible.

If they have migration for the data why not subscriptions

It's perfectly fine for new users, it's just the current ones I can't add

They want a lot of money to do it for you.

I can understand why.

Managed to find a way to do it.

I have to create a new invoice for every premium member then mark it as paid, then edit ti to match the subscription dates.

You are a star, well done we all owe you a beer.

I still need an address for every invoice created to make a subscription.

looking at the database tables i might have a way to create a custom script that makes invoices, and subscriptions based on previous users details.

i don't know whos everyones address is but i'm sure i can create a dummy address just to allow the script to run.

So can everyone give their condolences to the old site and take some screen shots if they want of how it looks for old time sake.

Everyone settling in ok ?

Its a lot for an uneducated, computer illiterate fool like myself to take in but I’m slowly getting there and enjoying it so far. ?

Nice work, congratulations. (btw, has the change colour setting been implemented and if so, where? I'm being a luddite and can't find it ? )

I've enabled it now to let everyone see what it does but as the logo is not transparent it wont change so it looks naf.

Click the paintbrush tool at the top right to get the colour picker.

The colour picker should work just fine now with it.

The colour picker is a nice touch, although it has got me wondering if there is a 'dark mode' which can be enabled anywhere?

Having spent some time using (and configuring) vBulletin 5.x, IMO this is a much nicer alternative. ?
