Never mind that, the Army wants to go green! I would have thought death anxiety for the crews would be much more of a worry.

Electric tanks !!! because they would be better for the environment then fire a radioactive nuclear shell at your enemy ? worlds gone mad.

I presume they would be great at sneaking up on the enemy.

Not really, draging around the electrical substation that would be required to provide the power that would be required to move something of that weight around would give it away.

At the very least tripping over the 11kv cable might alert anyone that it was there.

This is one of the things that bugs me about the whole electrical thing, polititions in particular ( but not just them ) throwing out statments that we will have this target or that target for vehicals by whatever date with no concept of the work that will need to go into upgrading and reinforcing the transmission grid and distrobution network to support all these vehical which will need charged.

Just as an example, and apologies that I don't have a link to the paper, but its apparently estimated that if today we were to convert every car on the uk roads to electric, we would need the equivalent of 6 new nuclear power stations just to support this increased demand, at the moment our existing ones are reaching end of life, and there seems to be few plans to build new, were going to struggle to support the load we have with wind, let alone this new demand.

Sorry that was all a bit ranty, its the background I have and its always annoying when you here statments and know those making them have NO concept of the major work thats going to be required to make it work.

My other pet hate is news paper stories about how some we ned was saved by his new nike trainers while trespassing in a substation......but thats a rant for another night.
