I have a roof leak on both sides of my Z at the moment. It used to leak from the window at the main join between the Targa and the body but this seems to be fixed after replacing the Targa rubbers, adjusting them as close to the body as possible and screwing them down there and moulding some black silicone to the body rubber and layering some cling film over it to set against the targa (there was some deformation on the body rubber but I do not fancy spending £300+ for each side of the body rubbers!)

It now looks almost as though it is leaking from within the Targa trims and dripping out of the plastic but I pulled one of the tops out last night and removed the trim and it was bone dry inside which would make sense as I had also recently replaced the top glass bolts and applied silicone around each bolt so these cant leak.

I am now at a bit of a loss as to why it is still leaking but it is certainly coming from somewhere on the leading edge where the targa meets the body but the window seal looks good from the outside and my drains are clear.

Anyone have any ideas? It is driving me mad :)

I would avoid using silicone at all costs.

Have you adjusted the stoppers for the door glass?

I replaced every single weather strip on my Z, it cost around £1000 which is a little excessive, but makes a huge difference.

Can I ask why I should never use silicone? For reference this is what i have done and also shows the seal against the window... https://photos.app.goo.gl/YjSP76xvRvbSSMtR7

I have adjusted those a while back and it did not seem to make a difference. I have ordered the "Upper Slider & Bolt, Window Rattle & Leak Fix" from CZP as one of my windows does rattle so I will look at the stoppers again when that arrives and I get the door cards off.

Because silicone has a different shore rating to rubber. So any pressure on the silicone is going to make the rubbers behave differently and pressure applied to the silicone will change the characteristics of the rubber and the way it flexes.

Okay, thanks for the heads up. I will remove the silicone and give it another douse in Gummi Pflege for now. I have taken a punt on a used set of A-Pillar seals from eBay as the next thing to try.

Looks like I am not getting those eBay Weatherstrips after all.

Is there anything I could try filling my seals out with that would work?

You mentioned here all new seals made a huge difference... Is that to say there's still some leaking for you?

I am considering replacing all the seals now but it's so much money for the strips of rubber. Sadly it seems it's the only reliable option I have

Another thing you could try is removing the shims. There should be two shims under each locking hole on the body - you'll need to remove the trim around it.

Didn't help me, but it's worth a try.
