I have recently managed to get my JL amp and JL subwoofer working after many setbacks. Apart from a few tweaks, I am very happy with the setup. When I music direct from my phone (iPhone) via blue tooth, I get a ‘schsing’ noise in the background. If I turn down the music volume to zero, this noise is still there. However if I play a CD from the Headunit, I don’t get this noise.

I had read on line that a poor earth my cause this issue, but the amp and HU both have a good earth connection, but the sound disappears when I play a CD.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a different phone . And what volume are you set at on the phone ? If max try turning it down a bit, may be from the iphone internal amp

My wife had this problem when in her car so I asked her to turn the fan off and the noise stopped. Maybe worth a try.

PMSL

Have you tried installing your iPhone in the bin and getting a more superior Android phone? ;)

Ok, so after further investigation, even with the volume of the phone, set no higher than 50%, the background noise is still there. I did wonder if the it was due to the musics compression format (Apple Lossless). But having listened to a digital Radio station via Bluetooth, it still suffers the same background noise.

I have another head unit that I am going to try out to see if noise is still present, as I cannot really see how it could be a wiring issue at this point.

Does it only make the noise on Bluetooth connection, or does it do it if you connect via USB aswell?

What's the make/model of the headunit?

Sony BT2600 Andrew.

CDs are fine, no radio as I have no Ariel.

Haha, it is a fairly old unit and doesn't have a USB out

Many thanks for the input Andrew.

I found some useful information, on the install instructions, and after setting the BTA ouptut to -8dB, the 'shissing' has now gone. :cool3:
