Following on from an earlier thread I read that poly urethane bushes might be noisier than std. Is this true and why? I am soon to fit a set. They are firmer than std but does that mean rock hard. I already have lowered springs, and run on 19's.

i found that they just tightened up the car, so the drive was more precise, if that makes sense:confused:

I assume that you use to have 16"s or such before you went on to 19"s. How do you find running on 19"s? What is the ride like(ooo eerrr). Given the choice, would you put 19"s on again?

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I have poly bushes all round, they do make the car noisier because they are more solid so transmit more vibration through to the chassis.

My S13 is rock hard, possibly too hard at the minute but I think it's due to the whiteline roll bars being on max adjustment. I will experiment, I have the shocks on the softest setting at the minute.

With the AGX's on 3/4 front and 5/8 rear the wheels barely move over bumps etc, proper go-kart. :) That's ok on the track prolly but shite on the roads around Swansea. :(

Make sure you put the special grease on them that comes supplied or they can squeek..

Cos,

The 19's look the dogs wotsits. The ride is definately harder but I had the car lowered/new springs/shocks at the same time so it is hard to say the effect the wheels alone have.

You only notice it on rough old roads (aka 50% of uk roads).

Would I put 19's on again? Mmmm. For handling (on decent roads) and looks defo yes. For ride I might stick to 18's.
