Hi,

I recently had a water leak from a small rubber hose just above the passenger side turbo.... I’ve been struggling to get at it for ages now. Have taken plenum off and I can now just about get my hands to the hose, but there’s no way I can get the clip off and get the hose out. Have tried everything! From the top and from below, but no luck! Bought extra long pliers... nope... ugh!

I could get to it if I could remove the downpipe I’m sure, but how do I get to the bolts holding g it to the turbo? Or would it be easier to take the box out?

Seems stupid to take it to bits so much for a weeny little hose!

Anyone got any good how to’s for removing the down pipes?

Thanks

Ooh, was wondering about that but had read something that suggested that the cooling was needed. Definitely sounds easier than pulling the gearbox out!! Where would I bypass from? I can see where it joins one of the hard lines behind the plenum. But where is the other ‘end’?

Also... I assume it wouldn’t matter if I just did one side? Or should I bypass both turbos at the same time even though there’s no leak from that side? Could you suggest specs for the hose and a good supplier? Thanks

Take a photo of your leak. The passenger turbo has quite a bit of room around it, you just need to know where to play with it.

Have got plenum off at the moment so was going to do those bypasses as well. Been doing some research... Am I right in thinking that if I bypass both plenum and turbos I could essentially just bung the 4x 6mm pipes coming from the 2 hard lines feeding the heater matrix at the back of the engine?
