I did too....

Not sure about Paddy McGuinness yet, as I have never been a fan, but I'm pleased Rory Reid has gone - I just didn't like him as a TG presenter.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

What do these three know about cars though...?

Good point - but at least Chris Harris is a racing driver. Not to mention his career as a motoring journalist; writing and reviewing for Evo and Autocar magazines, to name but two...

It's simple, top gear became a huge financial success when the show was more about slapstick comedy with cars as the delivery method.

They tried purely with actors who were huge motoring enthusiasts, and probably have a considerable wealth of knowledge; it failed miserably- so back to comedy it goes.

I'm not the first to say it but I didn't really like what the show had become with Clarkson, May and Hammond. I really like their presenting style, and the way they bounce off each other on tv, I enjoyed the content in their earlier episodes but it became too outlandish for my taste. But it's a corporate call, money dictates what shows become.

i think the producers have gone for chemistry this time, by getting 2 presenters in who are friends and already have banter, rather than bringing in people that have to get to know each other and build chemistry as part of the show, as that didn't really work for them the last 2 attempts.

Chris will hold up the passion and technical aspects of cars, as he has done since he got onboard. he knows his stuff and it shows.

it all seemed to work ok for the first episode, although a little wooden and forced in places, but i am sure it will get better quicker than it did with the last trys.
