No dip beam, High beam, High beam telltale light on dash and no horn!!

Hi all, as the title says i have no lights for horn. Rear light ok, side lights, ok fog lights ok. I can hear the relays clicking under the bonnet but no lights. Are there any common issues that can relate to all that going at once. Cheers

Looking at the wiring diagrams, it looks possible that the energising side of the coil may be working, switching the relay, but the supply side is not getting through. Have you checked these 3 fuses shown below? If they’re not blown I’d do some checks across the pins to make sure the supply is there, maybe an issue with the plug or connection underneath.

Have you done anything recently to the electrics or around them?

Is yours a UK car?

Checked the fuses and all OK. Will check supply. I have been playing around under the steering column and caused a short the other week. I was wondering if there was a common denominator in the circuit. The powers going to the relays but nothing to lights.

I had a short in my car that was blowing the side/dip beam lights fuse. Turned out to be the plug for the cig lighter socket was lost and when it touched the metal mechanism for the handbrake, it would blow the fuse. took me weeks to work it out! Use a multimeter to work out what has power and what does and work back from there...

Hi Bud,

just had a quick sniff around and found 1.2 volts on all the 3 fuses with car running. On looking at the diagram am i right to think the power comes from the fusible link area. Ive checked all there and have 12v plus across all. I have also checked to see if any power is getting to the light relays and found no power also. There was 12v at the dip relay though. Are there only fuses in the drivers footwell and under the bonnet? or are there any hidden?? Cheers

could be of help but i had an issue on mine with radom things not working, horn was one, other was a dip beam, i believe, in the passenger footwell, towards the outside of the car (to the left of the board covering the ecu) there are some electrical plugs, usually in a white plastic holder, the larger plug suffers from corroded pins, especially if you've had a leak. definitely worth checking, had to bypass some of the wires on mine as pines had corroded and broken off.

Im away at the moment bud. Just the zed hasn't been out of the garage for ages so and was in working order till i started installing a fan etc. I managed to cross a wire and since then nothing. I have pulled up the carpet etc and have had a quick look. Im away till Saturday and with weather permitting will get it out the garage to get some light on it.

I might have burnt something. Got no dip beam tell tail light on dash either.
