Hi folks,

My Mongoose exhaust is beginning to look a little (well) untidy - so after having the Zed resprayed I was thinking of getting a new one. I can't seem to find Mongoose or Scorpion still listing the Z32 fitment though. I see Luke has a cat-back system, but don't really like the "rolled-out" appearance of the tail pipes. That just doesn't suit the Zed IMO.

I have found this on Ebay though - looks like the old Japspeed system, just more expensive

Could it be a Manzo, seeing as it's from the US? And do we think it's any good.....??

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

This one from SZ using Sebring components looks well made. And you can get it with resonators to tone it down.

If you’re considering w custom exhaust, speak to Pete Ellis of PTR exhaust in Brackley. Works mainly on Group C, Formula 3 and other historic race cars. Very reasonably priced for the level of quality (he’ll also so building my exhaust)

Thanks Nick - and Brackley is not a million miles form me either....

I’ve used LongLife silencers to replaced the Kakimoto silencers that collapsed in my H pipe....... they’re utterly useless, I may aswell have put straight pipes in my H pipe!

Longlife / Powerflow AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Because they're franchised, fitment quality can vary wildly. That's not the worst part about them, the materials are really low quality. Their tubing is some sort of mongrel steel which is stated as being stainless, but in actual fact is very low grade stainless which does corrode. Baffles are low-brow, I just wouldn't use them personally.

Infinity Exhausts near Bristol make very good quality systems. Jimmer @ PowerZed uses them and I've seen the quality and workmanship, they really are extremely good and can make you exactly what you're after, whether it's a factory look and low sound, to something stupid. One that sticks in my mind was a very clean low mileage UK car which had a stock system on. Last year the owner wanted to replace it with a stainless system that looked very similar but had low noise levels. What he got was exactly that. Very very subtle, but looked OEM-esque and made a nice refined sound.

Me too. I like AndrewG's but it's $1,200 ex US in my config. I noticed this lot https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-Custom-Built-Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-Rear-Dual-System-2012NZX-DS-59874025/152696441574?fits=Model%3A300+ZX&hash=item238d6acae6:g:EXAAAOSwGYVW~l03 on Ebay - cheap but do we know anyone who's used them?

I saw them too - and whilst I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, they seem a little too cheap. They do appear to offer nice choice of tailpipes though; some look good, some not so. And they have two distinct prices - £340 or £470 - but without reading further, that could be the difference between delivered or fitted.

Infinity Exhausts https://www.infinity-exhausts.co.uk/show_gal?rp=gals&r=3&gox=Nissan replied to my email and they said:

For replacement stainless steel centre and twin rear sections depending on set up will be £650-750 all in.

For replacement rear sections you will be looking at £450-500.

When replacing a standard system with stainless it tends to become a bit more of a sportier sound naturally.

Prices include fitting, VAT and a lifetime warranty.

Given the above recommendations, sounds good.
