Hi since I smashed up my beautiful Green 1995 300, I have been driving my older 300 most of the time being my only car, I had to take it off the road yesterday fo some major needed repairs.

 

Lucky I still have the use of my brothers 911, seeing he is still living in Hong Kong.

 

I am so embarrassed at how I have neglected my car, but only doing 1 - 2 thousand miles a year and having a bad back (no excuse really) it is now time to sort everything out before the next MOT.

 

Having sold most of the parts I had collected, I have been getting ready with the long list of parts I now need, how the prices have gone up, can’t really believe it.

 

Started stripping her down yesterday, what a mess.

 

 

The only good thing about so much oil leaking is those areas are rust free.

Started work on the car again, managed to get the brake callipers on.

Can’t believe another month has passed and not much done. Today I removed the front bumper to clean things up a bit, glad to not see any bad rusty parts, bits I can see will be treated. I have booked an MOT for Friday afternoon fingers crossed, still have tracking to do and sort my headlamp problem I’m going to disconnect the dim-dip unit tomorrow hope that fixes it.

 

Well what can I say that’s acceptable, not much finally tracked down my headlight problem took most of the day.

Long story. So short version, right dipped beam fine left dim

main beam RH fine LH not working

after testing many wires I found the wire from the relay in the fuse box to the light pod in the car, both pink wires RH with black stripe LH with silver band. RH continuity working LH nothing, so made a wire from the pod to the LH relay and hey presto lights function as normal, what a pain and lost a lot of time, still lots to do before MOT at 3pm tomorrow not sure if I will make it but fingers crossed.

one done might have to leave other side now for another day.

Hi unfortunately not, it’s amazing how long the little bits take, I have rearranged for Monday at 1pm.

we did manage to drive it up and down the road at 8:30pm. I will finish off on Sunday. 

 

Oh yuk

All done now and ready for the MOT, will get it washed on the way, been a long 11 months and can’t wait to be driving her again.

Car passed mot and is now taxed and fully legal. ?‍♀️??

Looks but it’s not loud I live in a flat and said I did not want the police to hear me coming lol.

I agree, that setup is not loud. Friend had it on his and it actually sound pretty good.
