I am also interested in this, always assued undersealing is a complete suspension and engine out job to be done properly

Rustbuster offer an excellent range of treatments and also carry out the work also if desired. Its over a thousand pounds to treat a car fully but they it is an extensive process.

I would recommend any Dinitrol or Bilt Hamber products. I personally used a Dinitrol kit for an XL car and it’s done a great job. The kit comes with the underbody protection, chassis wax, rust converter, and a long wand. It also comes with 10mm plugs in case you need to drill any holes for access but no drilling is required to access all the chassis cavities on the Z32.

I paid £490 two years ago for mine to be done when it first came in with Dinitrol. They did EVERYTHING. Not sure if Jimmer remembers but if he does he can attest! There was cavity wax seeping out of everywhere when I got it back. Including the aluminium bonnet  but the guy knew what he was doing, was telling me before he did it how he'd have to do two passes because on these cars you can't get to everything at once etc etc..so he clearly had experience!

I wasn't really sure what to expect before it was done. As for suspension out, oh they weren't fussed about that, all suspension, running gear, exhaust, the lot was covered. Some blobs on the inside of my wheels too. The engine was kept clean though. Car stank for a few months! And the exhaust crackled and popped as it cooled, though I replaced it anyway.

I can't say I'm disappointed, I don't care what the underneath looks like so long as it's protected, but if doing it again I would know to ask what their plan was and discuss it! Maybe the place Jimmer mentioned are more careful and that's why it's more expensive.

I was told doing it every 10 years was sufficient. You have to be careful when jacking it though, the stuff is very slippery.

All that said, when mine was done it was fresh in so was spotless underneath...nothing for them to cleanup/look at before they covered it. If yours has been around here for 12 years, it might not be ready to accept it straight away. I don't think it would be a good idea to seal any rust in...

i did mine 2 years ago with dinitrol, rubbed down any exseeive rust patches and treated them with rc900, then a coal of ML (3125) which is like water and seaps between any panel joints etc, then 4149 over the top, works really well. i have currently got wax oil in the sill cavities which was put in when i had them welded but i need to reapply the sills with dinitrol next year.

Joely P - looking at the Dinitrol kits on eBay at the moment to get my SWB zed protected. When you say an XL kit are you talking about this? *XL kit eBay Link*

Surely that's way more than is needed for any zed? Not sure which kit to buy to get enough coverage but I can do without spending extra money on something I'm just going to waste. The eBay kit for a 'medium' car is less than half the price which I would've thought was enough to cover a zed? *Medium kit eBay link*

I agree, that does look a bit much! Those prices have taken a hike too I think. The only reason I suggested it was because I purchased a large kit and had to buy extra tins of the underseal and cavity wax. That said, mine is a 2+2 and I did go properly into town with it! Give it a go with the medium, if you run out you could always get some more.
