Sign up thread for the August 23rd to 26th Bank Holiday weekend at Fat Lamb Inn, Ravenstonedale, located between the Lake District, North Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales.

Dates voted for

The venue is great, with warm welcome and brilliant food. I think we all put on a few lbs last time  as well as throughly enjoying the driving to, from and around.

Previous visit we stayed 2 nights, with a great drive around the North Pennines on the Sunday, and general consensus was we need another day/night to make best use of the journey from the south, and appreciate the roads and scenery.

So this time, we have reserved a 4 day/3 night weekend, although you also have the flexibility to book just 2 nights if that suits you better.

Prices are for 2 people bed, breakfast and 3 course evening meal at the AA 4* rated hotel.

2 nights £290

3 nights £435

Reservations are first come first served basis with deposit direct with the venue.

Call Paul on 015396 23242 to book in and then update your details below with which days, so that we can work out the best events for each day.

There are plenty of interesting locations around where we can arrange a route with tourist stops and/or just a day of driving and lunch fuel stops.

All to be arranged and confirmed over the coming months.

If all rooms are filled, Paul has another location nearby or can arrange with local hotels/B&B's, and still cater for everyone at the Lamb for the evening meals.

If you want to attend either or both days and make own arrangements, or live locally, that's great too. There are a few ideal spots to meet up at depending on which day/agenda you want to join.

Tom, from previous discussions with him about these weekends, he keeps most of the weekend dates in reserve specifically so that he can book them as whole weekend events with clubs, rather than end up with odd rooms left unoccupied for single nights which make it harder to work around later.

But having said that, if we have a few 2 night stays, that might leave a single night available. Probably depends on which day you were planning to attend as well.

I can ask him about the other local hotels next time i speak to him, but i am sure he will be very helpful if you give him a call.

I generally just look on booking.com for places in the area with free cancellation, so that i get something booked as a backup when i am not sure what is planned.

Cheers Craig, I'll have a look to see what other hotels are around. It was a bit much last time as a day trip, with all the driving.

1. Craig - 3 nights Friday to Monday

2. Joel - 3 nights Friday to Monday

3. t.mogsy - 1 night (kings head hotel) Saturday to Sunday

Will come down and likely end up doing the same as Tom, was brilliant fun last year.

1. Craig - 3 nights Friday to Monday

2. Joel - 3 nights Friday to Monday

3. t.mogsy - 1 night (kings head hotel) Saturday to Sunday

4. Devvny - Most likely 1 night (at Kings head) Saturday/Sunday

I haven't asked Julia yet - but as we enjoyed this year's (even without the Zed) I shall register my interest now....

5. RichardS - 2 nights for two people; Saturday and Sunday please.....

…...I shall confirm once Julia has secured the Saturday off work. I'm not driving up in the middle of the day again  Best to leave home at 6am on Saturday

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Can it keep up with our Zeds, though Joel....

Unfortunately not, it tops out at 31mph when being “piloted” and when it’s in tracking mode (locked on to a target to follow), it can only travel at a measly 7mph! It’s only a baby one but it should make for some cool shots and capture some great footage of the trip.

Never mind, we'll have to drive slowly in formation, for some great action shots.....

Unfortunately I sent the Spark back [emoji20]

And upgraded it! There were a few things I wasn’t happy with on the Spark and although it’s cost quite a few pennies extra, I decided to take the plunge for a Mavic Air. This one will be more than adequate for my needs. I’ve given it a quick test flight in the garden but it’s now ready for the big man to wrap it up and bring it down the chimney, slipping it under the tree in a few days time! [emoji41]

Bump, now we are well into the year. Any of the other attendees from last year planning to come along again ;) Might even be in a zed this year

We are indeed.....

….Although sadly I might have to drop out. Julia is now unsure if she can get the Saturday off work - and in all honesty, if she can't, I really don't want to be heading up so far, so late, on a Saturday afternoon, in August bank holiday weekend traffic.

that would be a shame Richard, Julia has to get it sorted :) Nikk will miss her not being there

This was one of the best zed meets I'd ever been to. Great driving roads & scenery. Can't believe more people haven't signed up yet.

It was indeed - and I can't believe that was nearly a year ago either!!
