I was driving the other day my 300ZX. I have a 370Z also and I always notice how weak are the brakes on my ZX.

What options do I have if I want to put a bigger and better brake on my car?

I have 17 wheels on my car.40645965_10156666671168114_6896261612311674880_o.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=866490e4c12b7109c2fb14ec0014e341&oe=5BF03E27

I think that you will find that if you go for a BBK kit, then you may need to replace the wheels as well. My K sports are a tight fit behind 18’, as were the Akenbono kit (370Z)

Should be able to fit 350z discs and calipers behind there which are pretty much bolt on firmer and do not mess the bias up too much. Any more than that and you will as Howard says need bigger wheels, you also don’t need anything more than that. Even though you will notice an improvement the Brakes on your 370z will still be better and this is a larger design issue than merely the calipers themselves which you’d be hard pushed to changed.

Have you changed the brake fluid and bleed the brake system since importing the car?

Calipers working properly - pistons moving freely? Pads in good condition and known manufacturer? Discs good?

I have a couple of setups but they all need a minimum of 18" wheels, they all use either 350mm or 355mm discs, so 17" wheels aren't really an option.

Everything is new. The car had a full service including brakes, gearbox, clutch, engine, roof. I spent over 5000 EUR on it.

The car is braking normally, I think, but I have problem only when I compare it to my 370Z.

Basically I'm used to my 370 and this is not enough for me.

Bopat, if you’re sticking with 17” wheels, I do have a set of Evo Brembo’s with 350mm discs and adapters which may squeeze behind 17” wheels?? They’re in the for sale section.:thumbup1:

I don’t think they will fit. Need the 320mm disc version, or as I said before the 350z disc and calipers combo which is virtually bolt on.

Just to reiterate, the 370z has a different braking system and fitting the same or better discs and calipers won’t yield the same feel.
