Currently my zed has no front indicators which needs fixing.

The issue is that i have varient versions of zed parts that are not compatable so i'm looking to see whats needed and from where.

My zed is a 1996 which had the older style front end.

It is now fitted with a 99 spec original front bumper and new front indicator housings.

my issue is that the bulb holders are different for the new housings and the plug on the loom is also different.

I have found a harness adaptor that fits my currently loom but the bulb required is a double element and i can't find it anywhere apart from conceptz.

Below is a few pictures of the various parts i have, if needed i will just cut the cable of the loom and put a new plug on but has anyone got a plug which will fit.

This is the harness i have which plugs into my main loom; this splits the bulbs into seperate bulbs.

this is the bulb that this harness requires ;

this is the bulb adaptor that i want to use but i'm not sure what plug this is :

I have millions of bulbs. I'l see if any of them look right for you. Are the pins straight opposite each other or are they slightly off centre opposite?

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

Haven't a clue. Maybe some cars had an orange side light. Might just be extra bright

What I don't get is why does an indicator bulb have a dual element ?

One for side (or running lights in orange 5W) and one for indicator blinker 21W).

You know that you can modify the 99 spec housing to take a '89 spec bulb holder? Make that the orange blinker and

use the small Jspec fog light bulb for the side/running light).

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

When I went '99 spec on my red (UK) Zed, the '99 spec indicators were just that - indicators. The bulbs were single filament, off-set pin, bayonet fittings - and I just plugged the existing OEM loom wiring into the opposing plug on the '99 spec indicator. I then purchased J-spec fogs and plugged the side light loom straight onto the J-spec side lights.

Maybe yours are US-spec fittings Lee; that might explain the double filament indicator - as they would have permanent illuminated orange running lights...??

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yip,

That's what I've got along with two bulbs.

They are for the USA market and have a dual element bulb that if I decide to use by hacking up the loom then

after the bulb blows if it ever does then i'm stuck again.

What I need is two new bulb holders and a piece of old loom that I can splice into and use UK bulbs.

Just seen this Lee and thought of you, it should be the bulb holders notches that govern if you've the correct ones or not, you can of course amend these slightly to fit.

You need 2 x 382 bulb holders, single filament, straight pins that you can use a 21w bulb ?

Is that 2 per side ?

Why 2?

I have two per side, one is the signal and the other is the kerb light which I like having.

My side lights are currently halos in the headlights btw.

Iiuc your side lights are the 501 bulb holders ?

You want me to send you 2 holders with tails foc ?

if I understand correctly he doesn't desire dual filament bulbs, just the 21w part, not the weedy 5w !!

Pm me your address Lee and i'll get the 2 x single filament bulb holders away plus some bulbs if I have them, have I to assume you want amber coated ones ?

Here's the thing; as said in the first post two ways I can go about this with the parts I've got.

I have a single point, single element tinted orange bulbs and bulb holder that came with the 99 Spec lenses.

I can't currently fit these at there is no cable on them and they require a new plug which my zed doesn't have.

The plug on my main loom of my zed does fits the y harness loom shown in the pictures above which requires the dual element bulb which I don't have.

So I either find a source to replace the dual element bulb or find a plug to fit the bulb holder - or change the bulb holders and splice them into the loom.
